After a brief hiatus, and lots of new developments, I'm excited to bring you updates on what's going on in Fortnite, Valorant, and Overwatch League as well as getting a chance to have an in depth conversation with Whalen Rozelle aka Riot Magus who is the Director of Esports at Riot Games and is overseeing the development of Valorant's esports hopes. The game is fresh in everyone's minds and it has dominated the conversation for quite some time. Does Riot plan to eventually go into an LCS style League format? What tools could we expect in the Observer? All this and more in this weeks THAT ESPORTS PODCAST!

Today we're discussing all things Valorant, Riot Games' new first person shooter (formerly known as Project A). It's poised to shake up the gaming industry and the world of epsorts so I reached out to notable esports pundit Slasher to get his take on Valorant. We discussed it's viability in esports, the style of game it's shaping up to be, whether the first showing of the game was the best way to do it and if it would overtake games like Overwatch and PUBG in Asia. Finally, how in the world do you pronounce VALORANT! All this and more in today's SPECIAL That Esports Podcast!

Nintendo has inadvertently landed on one of the biggest esports in the world and they do very little to nothing to support it. Why is that and what else has Nintendo missed out on? This week Goldenboy talks to ESPN Esports' Jacob Wolf, who is one of the leaders in esports journalism, about his role in this industry and how he feels reporting is perceived by the community and his peers. What happened in Montreal at the Six Invitational (Rainbow 6) and in Philidelphia for the Fusion Homestand (Overwatch)? Also, what's going on with the Dallas Empire (Call of Duty) and why are people burying this squad only 2 events into the CDL season? All this and more in THAT ESPORTS PODCAST!
Today I get to chat with my good friend Soe who is stepping into the role as the new host of the Overwatch League. She's a veteran esports talent and has worn many hats in the OWL but now she takes on the challenge of hosting, which she's more than prepared for. We discuss her thoughts regarding taking on the role, share funny stories of our world travels together, and give her thoughts on the teams to look out for this season. Enjoy!

This week we talk to Halo and Apex Legends Pro Player Snipedown to get his reaction on qualifying for the ALGS Major in Arlington, TX and discuss his future in games like Call of Duty. Speaking of, the Call of Duty League is underway and we had some notable moments but nothing more notable than YouTube getting the exclusive broadcast rights for the CDL what does Goldenboy think of this recent development? The LCS's next action-packed season has begun and some big names are showing early signs of struggle. Huge upsets took place that rattled the world of Super Smash Bros. and what's next for the Brawler genre? All this and much more in another wild week for esports across the globe!
Esports is an ever-growing beast and this week leaves us with much to discuss. I had a chance to sit down with the General Manager of the Houston Outlaws, Flame, to get his thoughts on how his team will do in 2020 and whether the community backlash has affected him and his squad's mentality. There has also been a lot of heated discussion about the long term viability of the Overwatch League as it goes into its third season and some are wondering if the writing was on the wall but I believe not all hope is lost... Meanwhile, we had big events for Super Smash Bros. and FIFA. Call of Duty will be seeing updates ahead of the CDL Launch Weekend and some organizations in CSGO made some changes to shake things up (or in some cases keep things "the same"). Esports never lets you down!
