As we look into these verses in the book of Hebrews, we begin to get an awesome clear picture of who Jesus Christ is. Mankind is fast on the brink of destruction because of rejecting the salvation that can only be found in Jesus Christ.

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Hebrews 1:1-3

This is a quick look at the fruits of the Spirit and the lusts of the flesh. We are looking at these scriptures in light of false teachers and false prophets. In light of our behaviour and way of living by the word of God. The fruit of the Spirit is the foundation for which authentic fruits are brought to maturity in Christ Jesus. Grasping the understanding of the nature of the tree and the bearing of the fruits of the spirit in the life of the believer/Christian.

It is both recognising what is authentic fruit and how to bring authentic fruit to maturity, these are all vital as we have but a short time here before we transition into eternity.

The defining of his ministry and ours as he reminds us that we are called to be saints and not sinners bearly surviving by the grace of God. The believer is to understand that he is no longer a sinner but that he/she are saints in Christ Jesus. A fundamental understanding of the scripture is vital to accurately understand and interpret the holy words of God. Knowing what God is saying and to whom is he speaking.
