  • Boss MD-200, Stone Deaf PDF-1X, GCP Comfortably Plum, TC Flashback II x4 – That Pedal Show

This is the audio from our video here: https://youtu.be/K6UeQOSn-oY

We demo the Boss MD-200, Stone Deaf PDF-1x, Green Carrot Pedals Comfortably Plum and TC Electronic Flashback II x4 guitar effects pedals.

Welcome to Pedal Jams, where we feature four guitar effects pedals that are new (to us anyway).

Our agenda is purely to plug them in, see what cool sounds and features we find, and combine them in whatever way inspires… and have a little jam to put them in context.

If you like this backing track you can buy it at https://www.thatpedalshowstore.com/collections/downloads

  • Ariel Posen Gear & Jams [New Hudson Broadcast-AP, Mulecaster, TPS Band] – That Pedal Show

This is the audio from our video here: https://youtu.be/BCy0rKKUFUQ

Ariel Posen joins us to talk about his 2019 travel board, the signature Hudson Broadcast-AP overdrive pedal and his incredible metal-body Mulecaster. He also jams with the That Pedal Show band!

Ariel is a wonderful musician who we first met in 2016. He has a long CV of band, touring and session playing, including The Brothers Landreth. He has recently embarked on a solo career, releasing the album ‘How Long’ in 2019, following up with live dates across Europe and North America.

We are delighted to welcome him to Schwangri-La to shoot the breeze about life, guitars and related matters arising… not least his new Hudson Broadcast-AP pedal, before some epic jammage with Doug Mussard (drums) and Paddy Blight (bass) – otherwise known as That Pedal Show Band… when they don’t have a better gig - ha!
Ariel is playing the Two-Rock throughout, Mick and Dan play the Victory at the end.

On the subject of which, please pick what you can out of this week’s jam. It's a bit pants - we need to find a better way of doing this... like actually learning the chords to the track before we hit record would be a good place to start. Apologies. We indeed could and should do MUCH better, as we’re sure the comments will reflect. Live and learn, and all that.
Secondly, yes it’s a real 1961 Fender Stratocaster - a refin, and on a longish term loan to me. Mick here. I’m a lucky boy. Trying not to get too excited about it because it’s not mine… but it is spectacular and I’m already in love with it. Gah! More on that over coming weeks.

  • Matt Schofield 2019 & The TPS Band! - That Pedal Show
This is the audio from our video here:https://youtu.be/oWuFtn8PnMI
Fantastic blues guitarist Matt Schofield visits TPS with his new Mad Professor Supreme Pedal, Two Rock amp and SVL ’61 Daytona guitar. Matt shares a ton of playing knowledge and tone tips before jamming with the TPS Band… including Dan and Mick!
Matt Schofield is an incredible musician whom Dan and I have known for almost two decades now. His unerring dedication to constant improvement, refinement and expression in his playing is inspirational to say the least, as is his stellar tone and dynamic touch. He’s also a beacon for purity and simplification on the gear front, all of which we discuss in this video including some awesome jamming with Paddy Blight on bass and Dougie Mussard on drums… otherwise known as the TPS Band.Matt has the new Supreme overdrive pedal out with Mad Professor – Harri Koski also joins us – and we must also say a massive thanks to Damo Ford from Curt Mangan strings and Reunion Blues gigbags for organising Matt’s visit.Curt Mangan: https://dynamicmusicdistribution.co.uk/collections/matt-schofield-signature-setReunion Blues: https://dynamicmusicdistribution.co.uk/pages/reunion-blues

  • Fulltone OCD V1.7, V2 and CS-GE
We demo and compare the Fulltone OCD V1.7, OCD V2 and the Custom Shop OCD GE overdrive pedals through a Marshall Plexi amp and Fender Hot Rod Deluxe.
This is the audio from our video here: https://youtu.be/lYX8MJt4ulc
The Fulltone OCD is without question among the most loved and successful guitar overdrive pedals of all time. Introduced in 2005 (we think!), its creator Mike Fuller wanted an OD pedal with plenty of dynamics and headroom, a relatively open EQ response and of course plenty of full, rich and dynamic overdrive. It is noted for responding well off the guitar’s volume pot and is used in pretty much every musical genre you can mention. There were a number of incremental changes to the design over the years from V1 to V1.7 - notably tweaking the midrange and adding germanium clipping diodes – then in 2017, Fuller surprised everyone with a V2, which is where we pick up the story in this video. Oh, and there's a Custom Shop GE version too. As a point of interest, this is also probably just about the best demonstration of what buffers to do your tone that we’ve stumbled on yet. Time stamps below…

Colt Westbrook and Jason Stulce from Walrus Audio pedals visit That Pedal Show. We demo the EB-10 EQ Boost guitar effects pedal, Monument V2 Harmonic Tremolo, 385 Overdrive, SLO reverb, Julia chorus and ARP-87 delay.

Hello! Mick here. We’ve always loved Walrus Audio pedals, so when Colt and Jason called up to say they’d be visiting dear old Blighty, we just had to have them on the show to talk about life, the history of their business and maybe an effects pedal or two.We kick off with a quiz, talk about some history stuff and get a listen to their latest and greatest.
    Enjoy the episode!

  • Phil X On Playing With Attitude – Dan's Vlog
This is the audio to our video here: https://youtu.be/5-v4UFOh6-w
Welcome to That Pedal Show! Please subscribe to our channel and visit our store https://www.thatpedalshowstore.com
Hello, Dan here! I've been fortunate enough to hang with Phil X on a number of occasions, and he is undoubtedly one of the coolest guys I know. Currently with Bon Jovi, he is a truly gifted rock guitar player who exudes intensity and attitude, but who also understands dynamics and sensitivity.I've been a fan since his 'Fretted Americana' days on YouTube, so when Phil was passing through London I grabbed the opportunity to sit with him and see if I could glean some insight into just how he does what he does

  • The Right Guitar Tuner For You? – That Pedal Show
This is the audio from our video here: https://youtu.be/OuMlFt8QdcM
And lo, at noon of the fifth day, the world cryeth in (almost) unison: “Surely they cannot make a 57-minute video about guitar pedal tuners?! They’re all the same, aren’t they?!”
And Dan and Mick looked down upon the people and said, “For too long you have placed your trust in that box that never quite makes an open D and G sound right. Wise ye up to these teachings and see if thy blessed instrument may sing more harmoniously. It will verily take as long as it takes.”Yep, annoyingly there is quite a lot to say about guitar tuners. From the obvious (it needs to fit wherever you’re going to put it) to the not so obvious (accuracy is at best a moving target), we talk about relative pitch, sweetened tuning, silent tuning, monitor modes, buffers and plenty more besides. Including 432Hz, should you be interested. One thing for certain is that you ought never to look at your tuner in the same way again.

This is Pedal Jams, where we feature four pedals that are new (to us anyway).
Our agenda is purely to plug them in, see what cool sounds and features we find, and combine them in whatever way inspires… and have a little jam at the end. That’s it!
