Turn the page on life and collecting. Where does one go after completing their collecting goals? How does one flip the script on an ever-changing hobby that seems so foreign to an old-school collector? I have no idea'r.

Freedom and independence means different things to different people in different situations. Curt Flood was Patriot #1 in war of Athletes v Owners. I somehow draw the line between Flood's struggle and the happy-go-lucky/everything's fine traded sets produced by Topps in the 1970s.

Sounds intriguing, doesn't it? I talk to Author Dan Epstein about his trilogy of most excellent 70's baseball books, "Big Hair and Plastic Grass", "Stars & Strikes", and "The Captain & Me. One of these books will be given away during HobbyPalooza on Saturday night June 25 at 7pm EST on Bench Clear Media's YouTube channel.

Check out these dads and their sons who fell very close to the tree. We particularly appreciate those mediocre fathers and sons from the appropriately named "Father & Son " subset from the 1976 Topps baseball set.

It's been a minute. Back with a tribute to County Stadium in Milwaukee, which, according to the Algonquin (and Alice Cooper), means "The Good Land".

What a year it's been. What better way to celebrate than with the 1977 Topps Baseball set. As they say in Nuevo England: "Wicked Good, Chah-ley".

Let's head back to the drawing board as I explore the 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee/Topps Hockey Booklet set. Not a true original but certainly a nice homage to the Topps cartoon DNA that runs through the the company's history, eh? Moms and the Baseball Card Hall of Fame also get their due.

To celebrate the 50th episode of TSCS, I leave no chad unmolested in picking the best baseball team of the 1970's. Perhaps not the greatest decade team ever but like my Uncle's Walt's basement rec room, it reeks of pure '70s.

Let's go inside the 1970s, shall we? I mean inside, where the shorts were short and the hair was long. The arenas of the 1970's each had their own 'charm'. We'll begin our look inside this week as we visit the various home of the New York/New Jersey Nets and the New York Islanders, hilariously referred to by me at one point as the "Long Island Islanders".
