In this weeks episode Casey K and Amy K discuss the Angel's Landing Cult led by Daniel Perez, a religious group that captured the attention of the nation in the mid-2000s. There are some terrible ongoings in this episode dolls, please have something light lined-up afterwards. Perez, also known as "Lou Castro," convinced his followers to abandon their lives and join him on a remote compound located in a secluded area of the Arizona desert. A burst molasses storage tank in Boston, 1919, created an over 12 meter (40 foot) high wave of 8 million litres of sweet, hot and sticky syrup that covered the town. This was far from a slow sludge, this disaster flooded Boston at over 56km per hour (35mph), covering property and horses, and killing 21 people and injuring around 150. Listen as we cover this terribly bizarre man-made disaster.

In 1999, 15-year-old Rachel was murdered by her former neighbour and babysitter, 19-year-old Caroline Reed Robertson. Although Robertson’s exact motive remains unclear, the court was told during the trial that Caroline had an unhealthy obsession with Rachel and was considering assuming her identity.

In TTKG’s first fire-centric terrible case, 35 ride-goers boarded the Sydney Ghost Train ride in Luna Park. Seven of them would not leave the train tunnel alive. Inadequate fire-fighting measures and low staffing caused the fire to completely destroy the amusement park's ghost train. Was electrical faults to blame, or was there a more sinister and spooky arson the real explanation? This is a mystery that has yet to be solved over four decades later.
