    An estimated 114,500 people in Ireland are living with long Covid or will experience the condition in the future, according to new research, which seems like such a large number but is anything being done to support these people whose lives have been impacted hugely by this? Claire Twomey contracted covid in March 2020 and since then her life completely changed once she was deemed 'free of covid' she was left with numerous side effects, she had to scale back on her work, simple tasks were leaving her exhausted, she has fought numerous infections and day to day life can be a struggle, she knew there had to be more people like her out there so she set up the long covid Ireland support group which now has 2,600 members. So now that restrictions have eased dramatically there is a fear that those with long covid will be left behind, Claire Twomey from Ashbourne gave us an update on her situation.

    In a move that hopefully will be emulated in clubs around the country Dundalk F.C is taking a stand against domestic violence, they are partnering with Women's aid Dundalk for the month of February to raise awareness of the effects of domestic violence and highlight the great work Women's aid is doing. Martin Connolly Chief operations officer with the club told Sinéad why it is important the club to run this initiative.
