These groups are popping up all over the country and a group in Ennis Co. Clare that is aiming to bring women from all walks of life together no matter what background started up last year. CEO and founder of the Mna ag Gaire group in Ennis Hilary Tonge tole Sinéad how she hopes the group will build women's up and support marginalised women in need through their various services including a digital hub.

Well known singer/songwriter SJ Mc Ardle is one of the curators of the series joined Sinéad for a chat.

  • Niamh Fitzsimmons using art to raise awareness of suicide
    In April 2017 Niamh Fitzsimmons an artist from Ashbourne tragically lost her brother Neil to suicide, Neil was battling depression and mental health issues which he hid from his family, Niamh is now remembering her brother by creating awareness around suicide, encouraging people to speak out if they are not feeling ok and she wants to raise funds for SOSAD the charity she turned to when she was in the grips of grieving after her brother's death. She is using her talents as an artist to raise money for the charity from proceeds made through online art classes.

  • Ovarian cancer awareness know the symptoms.
    It's the 6th most commonly diagnosed female cancer in Ireland. Approximately 441 women are diagnosed each year with 279 women losing their lives due to the disease. Ireland ranks among the highest in the world in terms of mortality from this form of cancer. This Saturday marks ovarian cancer awareness day Rosie Condra a nurse in our lady of lourdes hospital and a campaigner through the 221+ cervical check patient support group joined Sinéad to discuss the symptoms of this form of cancer and to highlight the importance of speaking to your doctor if you feel something is wrong.

    A hairdresser from Meath has posted everything from baking to a horse foaling on her social media platforms in an effort to keep her business Sarah Lyons hair and beauty bar Summerhill in focus. The posts have been a real hit so much so she has over 1,200 customers booking appointments with her for when lockdown lifts.

  • Father's plea for help for special needs son
    David Butler from Kells appealed for help on today's show. His 8 year old son bear who has cerebral palsy as well as other medical needs has been bound to the house since September as they need a specially modified vehicle in order to transport him to medical appointments, therapy and to see relatives. Bear has outgrown his manual wheelchair and is now in a powered chair that is much bigger and bulkier so it won't fit in their family car. Despite appealing for government assistance and funding David feels bear is one of many of Ireland's forgotten children.

  • Gulp Coffee at Garlow Cross
    A mutual love of the drive thru American 1950's style coffee experience inspired James Mc Carthy and Riona Gilroy to set up their own business Gulp coffee. The two started up their business in February at Garlow Cross and since then have been flat out making coffee so much so James had to rise at 5.30am to propose to girlfriend Riona before their busy shift at the shop. Sinéad found out all about the inspiration behind the business and their unique romantic wedding proposal.

  • Lockdown line out for Meego
    In May 2020 sadly 19 year old Caolan Meegan (Meego) a keen rugby player with Dundalk RFC sadly passed away. Caolan had epilepsy and died as a result of a seizure. His team mates at Dundalk RFC wanted to honour his memory and raise money for epilepsy Ireland and so will be coming together virtually to line out for Meego by taking part in a 20km run/walk. Mary Murdock PR director for Dundalk RFC paid tribute to Caolan and told Sinéad how the public can get behind their fundraising event.
