Physical attraction is arguably the biggest factor in dating today among single people looking to settle down and this applies to the Christian community as well. A person can be spirit-filled, have all the right values and a great personality to boot but can still be rejected or relegated to the friendzone on account of not looking a certain way. Is this valid though? Because physical attraction is actually important in marriage but what level of importance should we place on it especially as Believers? 

In this episode I examine a few of Pastor Kingsley and Pastor Mildred Okonkwo's takes on the issue and I share my thoughts on physical appearance and what role it's played in my dating life particularly in relation to why I'm still single and searching.

After hearing that single men are having a difficult time approaching and talking to the single women in church Pastor Joseph Aborowa of Highland church, Lagos shared some tips on how to successfully woo church girls during a sermon. His tips weren't without controversy though and in this episode of The 30 minute podcast I look at how practical his recommendations are and if his methods for winning a woman's heart are outdated and low key manipulative.

Recently I stopped listening to secular music in order to improve my relationship with God and it was based on a challenge by Jackie Hill Perry when she was a guest on Tim Ross' podcast - THE BASEMENT. On the topic of the 30 day challenge, Jackie highlighted the benefits of cutting out certain things from our lives that we may not know are distancing us from God and His spirit and how we would see a huge shift in our walk with Him if we were to embark on a 30 day fast of not listening to any secular music. Her reference for this was Philippians 4:8.

Armed with this information, I decided to try the fast for 30 days and I'm glad to say I came out better on the other side of it and I learned 5 things from the experience which is what I share in this episode of the podcast.

My friends Tosin & Adenike Esho just built and moved into their own home in the United States and they've openly shared their journey and the process recently on social media and I found my reaction to it to be quite interesting.

Friendship seems to be taking a big hit these days. Lots of people are losing friends rampantly and aren't making new ones as easily as they used to especially before the era of social media. There's also the fact that we don't seem to be making quality friendships as much as we used to. Friendships that are characterised by openness, trust, vulnerability and sincerity.

Recently, author & academic Richard Reeves talked about the challenge millions of people around the work are currently facing when it comes to friendship and its apparent decline today in a brilliant video titled 'The friendship recession' and on this episode of the podcast I examine it a bit and talk about the part of the video that really resonated with me. I also share my own challenges regarding friendships I've lost in recent years.

Women have it rough in the dating market but things seem to be particularly tough for women in their late 30's because it seems like their friends keep trying to set them up with much older men.

In this episode of the podcast, I use my friend Abimbola's Instagram post on dating as a case study to try and figure out why some people think single men in their 50's and above are the ideal candidates for single women in their late 30's. Enjoy.
