On episode 53 of The 40/40 Vision Podcast, we take a trip back to the 1980s to pick our NFL Half-Decade Team of players drafted from 1985-89. 

We picked a total of 15 players each between offense and defense and the only rule was that this player had to be drafted in between 1985 and 1989. We had a lot of fun picking each player and learning more about one of the golden eras of the NFL in terms of talent where all-time greats like Jerry Rice, Deion Sanders, and Bruce Smith were drafted.

We invited Professor Weineck on the show and she graciously accepted to share her extensive knowledge on the life and times of Joe Louis.

We had a lot of fun picking each player and this was the era where we both really got in to watching football at a high level so this was a ton of fun to do.

In this episode of 40/40 Shorts, we deep dive into the NBA's decades-long fight against tanking that started all the way in 1966 and continues to this day. The Dallas Mavericks are the latest team to draw the ire of the NBA as they were fined $750k for purposely losing their final game of the season in order to avoid the play-in tournament and guarantee their place in the draft lottery. We cover the many ways the league has tried to solve the tanking issue once and for all and the loopholes they have tried to close over the years. Finally, we wonder if the NBA will ever truly fix this issue and if we as fans should even care if teams tank so blatantly.
