This episode of 40/40 Shorts was inspired by the career retrospective we did of Michael Vick and when discussing his pop culture impact, the inescapable comparison to Allen Iverson came up. This lead me to dive into their respective backgrounds and the parallels were impossible to ignore.

Both Iverson and Vick redefined their respective positions, played with an effortless cool and swagger, had a long-lasting cultural impact, and dealt with controversy all throughout their careers. Let us know what you think of this unique cross-sports comparison!

In this episode of 40/40 Shorts, we were inspired by the impact of Lionel Messi on Inter Miami and the hope Aaron Rodgers brought to the New York Jets to discuss the intangible benefits of playing with a GOAT (Greatest of all Time).

The obvious benefits on the field, court, or pitch are that your team will be better as a result of having a GOAT on your team as well as players picking up the habits that make these guys so great. The intangible benefits are harder to measure and it's something we discuss in depth on this bite-sized episode of the podcast.

On 40/40 Shorts, we dive in to the draft day trade between the Warriors and Raptors that involved UNC teammates Vince Carter and Antawn Jamison. In this what-if scenario, we imagine a world where the Warriors kept Vince Carter and built their team around him for the next decade.

Carter was one of the best and most exciting players of the early 2000's and spent two decades in the NBA with several teams but his peak came with the Raptors and the New Jersey Nets where he made an NBA Finals appearance and earned plenty of accolades. He was also instrumental in the growth of basketball in Canada and his pop culture impact was immeasurable because of high flying dunks and acrobatics and we wonder what could've been if he did all of this in a Warriors jersey.
