Lance's four-career starts may disagree, but the 49ers have tried to give him more opportunities -- injuries simply got in the way.

Plus, Breer also said that the 49ers were willing to let Lance develop last season, even if it meant hurting their chances at winning a Super Bowl, adding that the team is not longer willing to do that this season.
