The Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa is halfway through a $45 million guest room renovation. The current room renovations include adding marble-tiled entryways, walk-in showers, mahogany furniture, new carpeting, wall and window coverings. This is the second phase of a multimillion-dollar renovation at the Grand Hyatt Kauai. The third and final phase, set to be completed in April, will take approximately 70 guest rooms out of service. The renovations are being done in such a way that it is having little impact on guests. All of the public spaces had been previously completed including the spa and pool.

Today we tell you about the 505 on Front Street in Lahaina Maui. This area is an old whalers village that has been converted into a shopping mecca with shops, restaurants and galleries. What lot of people don't know is that there is a group of shops and stores that extend a little bit further down on front Street called the 505. It's located about a quarter of a mile past the famous banyan tree. One of our favorite restaurants on Maui is located there called the Pacific-O, owned and operated by chef James. He has his own farm in Kula Maui and uses the fresh food he grows at his restaurants. When we ate there we just had appetizers and it was perfect, we had the blackened Ahi Tower, beef satay and this fresh house salad. If you time it right you can be there at sunset, sit at the table outside on the Lanai closest to the Luau next door and you'll hear the Hawaiian music so you'll feel like your part of the fun next door.
