This is part two of my exploration of the sociological imagination, a concept developed by the late American scholar and sociologist C. Wright Mills. This time around I invited three of my colleagues, all of which are sociology professors, to the show to discuss their sociology journeys and to help us get a deeper understanding of the sociological imagination. In episode 20 of The 7th Generation Podcast, I bring you part 2 of my sit down with the Pacific Savagez MC. The Pacific Savagez is one of the largest motorcycle clubs on the west coast and appear to be growing and getting stronger by the year. This is a rare insider look into one of Americas most fascinating subcultures, the MC biker set. In part 2 the Pacific Savagez explain in detail the meaning of their patch, the most prized possession of any club member. We also discuss how the club has brought together various groups of Pacific Islanders to create a brotherhood that is unbreakable. This is not your typical MC. The Pacific Savagez are deeply rooted in their Indigenous outlook and stand up for what they believe in, which is their Pacific Islander culture and community.
