In this episode, we dive into Cornell Lewis's journey as a community activist in Hartford, Connecticut. Lewis has most recently begun conducting armed patrols in Hartford as a response to the city's rising crime. He shares his struggles with mainstream Democratic reactions and the challenge of advocating for gun ownership for self-defense among skeptics.
Lewis champions self-defense in protests, and highlights instances where it has been crucial, especially for women. He critiques the idealization of peaceful protests, calling for a more assertive resistance against injustice and stressing the need for solidarity across communities to achieve social justice. It was an honor to have Cornell on the show and we're sure you're going to enjoy this one.
