In this - the final episode of our exhaustive (and exhausting) definitive A to Z of David Bowie podcast we inevitably find ourselves at the letter Z, and where better to finish than with the character who first introduced many of us to David’s world. ZIGGY STARDUST…THE MAN THE MYTH...THE LP. To leave you in style we now present almost an hours worth of Bowiedom to wave us on our merry way.
If you’d like to have a tangible artefact of the 35+ hours worth of work amassed thus far - the atozofdb team have put together a deluxe box-set of the entire series beautifully packaged and minus the adverts.

OK - we are now scarily close to the end of the Alphabet…and with it the end of our definitive Podcast journey through the work, life, times, friends and enemies of David Bowie. In this episode we tackle 2 letters! Damn we’re good. Y = Young Americans, David’s fearless foray into that thorny genre known as 'Blue Eyed Soul'. Of course it is a complete masterpiece. We also take a quick look at a man who could legitimately have turned up under the letter J (for Joe) or D (for Duncan). As it stands we opted for Z (for Zowie), David’s uber-talented son.

70 episodes down and two to go! In this 2nd part of our expeditions into the X - Rated cinematic Bowie, we look at the film Bowie described as “All my 32 Elvis movies rolled into one”…not for the fainted hearted - Ladies and Gentlemen we present “Just A Gigolo”. Also in this filmic feast… the doom-laden 'Christiane F’ and sexed-up Vampire romp “The Hunger’.

In this - one of the last episodes of the definitive David Bowie historical audio documents (commonly known as the A to Z of David Bowie), our two resident Bowie-nuts Rob Hughes and Marc Riley take a glance at the life of a man who befriended a pre-teen David Jones and went on to accompany him on his mind-blowing journey from Aladdin Sane, through the 'Philly Dogs' tour…on the Trans -Siberian Railway…on Cruise Liners... and the New Mexico filming stint for The Man Who Fell To Earth. He was Bowie’s best mate with good reason…he’s a Top Bloke. Ladies and Gentlemen…we present…Geoff MacCormack aka Warren Peace. Love On Ya. X

The hero of this Episode started off as a Rat and eventually found himself a Spider! We’re talking about the irrepressible Michael or ‘Mick’ or ‘Woody’ Woodmansey. From almost becoming a Spectacle expert in Driffield Yorkshire - he ended up as a Rock n Roll spectacle as the drummer in the hottest band in the world circa 1973. These days he is Holier than Thou...alongside his old mucker Tony Visconti in the band Holy Holy. We love Woody. If you don’t already you will by the time you’ve finished listening to this!

In this Episode Pinky and Perky (that’s Bob and Marc to you) dig deep into the Underground. The Velvet Underground. Only to discover the whimsical David Bowie currently ensconced in the world of the Laughing Gnome had gone ‘rogue’ with his Lou Reed inspired alter-ego! Here we see David as an unsure bohemian artist heading up the slightly bewildered Riot Squad outfit. It wouldn’t last. His friendship with Lou Reed however…would.

In this ever so slightly ‘fruity’ episode of the A TO Z OF DAVID BOWIE Rob and Marc get all hot and bothered whilst encounter the career of Bowie 70’s PR lady Cherry Vanilla. Her tales of nudity and pleasures of the flesh might be a little shocking to the faint of heart so please tread carefully! Much more innocent tho are the tales of Laughing Gnome producer Mike Vernon! And to put this episode to bed our two ‘nosey-neighbours’ take a brutal swipe at the debacle that was Velvet Goldmine (film) and applaud the source of its ‘inspiration' - Velvet Goldmine (song).

Listen in to our latest 'A to Z of db’ to see what Marc and Rob make of Bowie’s long-standing relationship with legendary producer and Holy Holy member Tony Visconti. It was an on-off relationship that at one point witnessed the arrival of a cosmic pixie …early 70’s superstar Marc Bolan…. and the one-and-only John Lennon makes an appearance too! It’s wall-to-wall Pop-Stars in this episode of the A TO Z OF DAVID BOWIE.
