The Absurd Academics

In this debate, we argued both sides around if the process of trying to leave a legacy before you die truly sets up a more meaningful existence. Amit argued that focusing om asking yourself what you want to be remembered for would better help you figure out how to do something great in this one life you have. David argued that the pressure of trying to be that great in which you end up leaving a legacy is something most people cant live up to and sets them up to fail and be depressed for most of their lives.

The Other Side is a podcast created by Amit and David – both of us are national and international competitive debaters and public speakers – we have been around the world over the past 6 years debating in tournaments from Croatia and Germany to Texas and New York. We’ve both individually won championships and as our debate careers have started to come to an end (graduating college), we still wanted to find a way to keep debating. We love debate, and The Other Side is a podcast that shows how you can competitively but meaningfully communicate around issues in which there always is another side, and therefore always a debate to be had.
