People define love using romantic idioms. Love is thought of primarily as a feeling yet in truth extends far beyond an emotion. Love is a verb, an action word that must be expressed externally. It includes how we treat others. If I say, I love my husband but criticize him for not being romantic, is that love? If I cause unnecessary distress to my brothers or sisters, can I say to my Father in Heaven that I adore Him? Am I expressing my authentic nature or am I a charlatan of the worst kind?
