Rish comes from an engineering background but has decided to follow his passion of acting. He is taking somewhat of a non-traditional path with workshop classes and studying filmmaking through an online course.

Mary Dallas is a Greek actress from Chicago who decided to move out to Southern California and pursue her dream of creating an acting career for herself at the age of 48. Sadly, both times he was not given the opportunity to join a degree program, but that did not stop him. If there is one thing that inspired me out of our interview it was Reynaldo’s unwavering commitment and focus on becoming an actor.

Paten Hughes lives an ambitious creative life. She is committed to working and auditioning in both New York and Los Angeles. Now add on top of that that she has also taken on the responsibility of growing her own tomatoes at a professional level that she sells to local restaurants and grocers. A passion for plants that has now grown into one of the most delicious side hustles I’ve ever heard of has also become the subject of her web series Heirloom on Vimeo.

Molly Mahoney and myself both went to Chapman University and earned our BFAs in performance. As most actors know, once you start working on making your living as an actor you realize that having other sources of income help level out the times when you’re not making money being the amazing artist you are. Many of us end up working flexible jobs like waiting tables, temp jobs, or babysitting.

Molly aimed to change that paradigm for herself. She found that when she shared her skills on social media, so many people outside of the industry loved her confidence in front of the camera and an audience and wanted to capture that same confidence for themselves. Any good performer knows to say yes to opportunities, so she did - and she’s built a thriving business from there.

Filipe Valle Costa currently stars in the new FX series Snowfall, a show that follows the growth of the crack cocaine epidemic in 1980s Los Angeles. Filipe had a wild ride when auditioning for the role and talks all about the craziness that an actor can experience when in that limbo of Yes or No from casting.
