After sacrificing himself to save an innocent, Dusten Dunn was granted a second chance at life and granted mystical powers to fight the darkness as Dust, the Weird Explorer who Eliminates Occult Threats. 

Dust's investigation has taken him into rural Louisiana, where he met more of the mysterious cult members. After a short confrontation with the group, a strange man calling himself Ezra appeared and revealed himself to be their leader, extending an invitation for Dust to come to their commune deep in the bayou.

When people with powers beyond the abilities of normal humans go bad, it takes a special kind of law enforcement agent to bring them to justice. Enter the Special Entity Crijminal Response and Engagement Team: Remauld Rauch an appealing speaker who talks to machines, Jason Stromm, a volcanic explorer who abides in stone, and Xander Mapps, an inquisitive tinkerer who builds tomorrow. Together, they are: Agents of SECRET.

Remauld, Xander, and Groundpounder returned to Juarez in a coordinated raid with Special Forces to shut down the operation and gather any evidence and intelligence they could find. They encountered a trio of enemy specials working in a secret lab, but subdued two, while the third fled, and recovered what they could before heading back to Washington.

After fighting her way out of the local headquarters of the Gate Corporation, Miranda went home to report what had happened to the Joint Task Force and get some rest. When she awoke, however, she discovered that her secret identity had been leaked to the press, and a media frenzy ensued, forcing her to sneak out of her apartment on her way to the police station to answer questions about the night before.
