Gabby and Gyan are guestless due to awards and Grand Final season. They review the W Awards as Ally Anderson wins her first AFLW B+F and the Lions go back to back with the awards. Eleanor Brown from the Bulldogs was our best off field for the night. Gabby and Gyan jump from topic to topic in non-negotiables as they discuss finals results, fixturing issues and play guess the All Australian in an extended non-negotiables segment. Then Jenna Richardson joins the show and gives insights into the inaugural season for the Hawks. A former basketballer, her journey to the AFLW started at the Eastern Ranges and included time with Richmond VFLW and Hawthorn VFLW. We talk about how she managed the time between VFLW and AFLW given the short turnaround for Season 7 as well as her off-season plans and how she balances her work, psychology degree and playing at the top level. All this and more, it was a great all round chat with a young star on the rise.

Gabby and Gyan present casual Fridays: a podcast. This poddy is short and sweet. In the short part we talk a fair bit about finals, B+F and have some tips for Rd 10. Gabby finally finds a different Hinge prompt as Dana East (Fremantle Dockers) joins us for the sweet part as she talks to us about how she's transitioned from the country to metro, gives us a ripper yarn about how she stood up the Fremantle Dockers president and give some tips for upcoming AFLW girls wanting to make it at the top level. Humble, softly spoken but a competitor on the field, it was a pleasure to chat to Dana, this one is a must listen especially if you love Western Australian footy.

Gabby and Gyan sit down to chat about the last fortnight of footy news including the Lions triumph and failure, the Suns golden patch and the venues conundrum for marquee matches. They also discuss the upside of Richmond's midfield who are starting to come together, the injury and performance woes of St Kilda and GWS and how top up players such as Christina Bernardi for Carlton may be a more permanent part of the AFLW going forward. Then they talk to Abbie Mckay and Lucy McEvoy, two talented players under the age of 25 who have had breakout seasons in 2022. The chat zigzags between where the girls grew up, how they found footy to their experience with the double season this year, the girl's tips on how to draw a match and many other things in between. An easy listen for this time of year as we head to finals in just over a month's time.

Gabby and Gyan are back to dissect all the action from Round 2 and 3. Using their Messenger chat as a guide they work through the recent results highlighting Brisbane's dominance, Freo's woes and surprise packets like the Bulldogs. Ground sizes and the injury list are on the agenda as the pair discuss in depth the impact these factors have on the performance of a team. Then they get a chance to chat to the lovely Becky Webster who joins them in an almond latte Oodie to talk about her experience moving to Geelong, how her personal approach and Geelong's approach towards training and matchplay has changed over time and how Geelong planned to take on Collingwood in Round 3.

Gabby and Gyan dive straight into Round 1 action and talk (probably for too long) about the matches just gone and the upcoming Round 2 and 3 fixtures. They review the Bombers v Hawks match, discuss tensions between Essendon and Carlton, preview the match of the round this weekend (Friday 2nd September Melbourne v North) and mention (briefly) the major outs due to injury after Round 1. Their guest is Liz McGrath, the ruck from Port Adelaide who had a stellar Round 1. They caught up with her before the trial match weekend and talk about her move from Coburg to Alberton, her development from a basketballer into a ruck, the importance of craving feedback from coaches and paving your own way as a footballer and person as well as the influence Lauren Arnell has had as the first AFLW player to transition to a head coach role.

In an extended episode, Gabby and Gyan break down the practice matches both official and unofficial in the lead up to Season 7. The wild weather in the west, Richmond's newfound scoring ability, Geelong's improved ball movement and the Demon's dominance are put up on the non-negotiables board and predictions are made for the Round 1 clash at Marvel Stadium between Essendon and Hawthorn. Ruby Sargent-Wilson (Sydney Swans) joins them later in the poddy to discuss her tumultuous pre-season, the "one club" culture of the Swans and her journey through the School Sport Australia pathway and Sydney Swans Academy to become the first signing for the Swans in AFLW.

The season is almost here and Gabby and Gyan break down some key upcoming practice matches as well as the QAFLW Grand Final (Sunday 7th August, 1pm) between UQ and Southport and the impact of the ever-growing injury list on this year's competition. Ellie Hampson joins them live at the dining table for an in-depth discussion about her journey after being picked as an inaugural player on the Gold Coast Suns list. Ellie takes the wheel and talks about being a magician, her friendships across the competition, building resilience through rehab and the importance of emotional support through social and family support networks when living away from home.
