In this episode we discuss the "aha moment" that happened for me one day while I was vacuuming. We never get to determine when the light bulb clicks on, but when it happens be attentive! This is the first episode where I also video-recorded the segment. You can see the video on my IG page at coachlatham_phd.
As you're listening to this episode think of some times in your life when the light bulb lit up and you weren't ready to commit. Think of a time when the light bulb lit up and you went after it. Then answer the following questions for each scenario: What was the outcome? What did you learn? How can you apply that in the future?
In this episode we'll discuss the importance of finding value in our story, knowing our purpose, and being in control of the quality of our life. If you've experienced failure, anxiety, depression, or a feeling of being "lost" because of "life" then this episode is especially for you. Happy listening!!!!
"It is better to be prepared and have no opportunity, than to have an opportunity and not be prepared."
The power of preparation is about purposefully moving you from a place of planning in a space of survival, to planning from a space of safety. As you listen to this episode, consider from which space have you been making plans.
In this episode we talk about some great life lessons I picked up during my time at the University of Louisville. Have your pen and paper ready!
I recently took a trip home (no surprise) and had some exceptionally moving conversations with some of my close friends and family. I've also been reading a book by Tarana Burke and Brené Brown, titled "You Are Your Best Thing: Vulnerability, Shame Resilience, and the Black Experience. An Anthology". Between the familiar love of being home, the rawness of the conversations, and the experiences shared within the book I was really moved to cover this topic.
Wow!!!! What an emotional episode, the coach actually sheds a few tears in this one. It's a somber memory when I discuss Deidre, but I am so happy that I got the chance to meet her, and I'm happy that I was able to honor her memory by completing something she motivated me to start.
