The Agati Video Podcast

"Buildings can tell stories, and there are embodied stories in every material that's reused." - Matt Dubbe

For this episode, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Matt Dubbe with Mead & Hunt, an architecture firm focused on aviation. Matt is their national design/market leader for aviation architecture. He specializes in sustainable projects that reflect a practical sensibility, joining performance and beauty.

In this robust, heart-filled conversation, we talk about Matt's background and love of aviation architecture, the role aviation spaces play in a community, trends in the aviation market, and how people need to feel comfortable while traveling. I loved this conversation, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts as well!

"We have an innate affiliation with nature." - Bill Browning

This episode is basically a masterclass introduction to biophilic design. No matter your specific role, there is so much great insight here.

For our second episode of the podcast, we have Bill Browning, one of the founders of Terrapin Bright Green, and a foremost thinker for the green building industry and well-known advocate for sustainable design solutions at all levels of business, government, and civil society.

In this fascinating conversation, Bill shares some of his story, what biophilia really is, the science (and studies) behind why nature in spaces reduces stress and improves results, how you can get started with biophilic design, and some fun facts to help you better understand human behavior. We were honored to have Bill as a guest, and we look forward to hearing what stands out to you in this episode!

"I believe so strongly that education is a vehicle to opportunity."

For our first episode of the podcast, we're welcoming Margaret Sullivan, Founder of Margaret Sullivan Studio, a full-service design firm specializing in cultural and civic institutions, with an emphasis on 21st-century libraries.

In this conversation, Margaret shares about being asked early in her career to become a "library expert" by Malcolm Holzman, how she designs for feelings and outcomes, the pro bono work they're doing in The Bronx, recent projects she's most proud of, and encouragement for all of us as we navigate this year. We were honored to have her as a guest for our first episode, and we look forward to hearing your thoughts on this new series!
