Today on the Aging Mask, we continue our chakra journey and move into one of the most fascinating and mysterious energy centers of the body, the "Third Eye" AKA: The "Brow" Chakra.
This episode is deigned to give you both a practical and inspiring look at this energy center. You will learn where it is located, what it governs in your mind and body, what happens when its in balance or blocked, and , most importantly, how you can bring it back to balance using food, lifestyle practices, silence and essential oils.
Unlike most of the chakras, which are aligned along the spine, the third eye sits little differently. It is located between your eyebrows, right in the center of your forehead. Ancient texts describe it as the "set of wisdom and intuition", the place that allows us to see beyond the surface of life.
The Third eye governs:
*Intuition- that deep inner knowing, or gut feeling that guides your choices
* Clarity of Thought- the ability to see situations as they really are
* Vision- not just eyesight but the ability to envision, imagine and innovate
*Discernment- the difference between perceiving the truth and being clouded by illusion
*Wisdom- connecting everyday logic with higher insight.
You could think of it as your inner compass. It doesn't just process facts; it interprets meaning. It helps you balance your rational mind with your inner voice.
When your third eye chakra is balanced- it shows itself in some beautiful ways:
*you will trust your intuition
*you feel mentally clear and focused
* you can visualize goals and see possibilities for the future
*You have imagination without being lost in fantasy
* you make good decisions, not out of fear, but from a place of clarity
*spiritually, you may feel more connected-whether that means a sense of purpose, connection to the universe, or simply being at peace with yourself.
When it is blocked or underactive, you might notice…
· That you have a hard time making decisions
· Feeling stuck or unsure about your life’s direction
· Lack of imagination or creativity
· Relying too heavily on others opinions
· Doubting you intuition
Because the 3rd eye chakra connects with forehead, the brain, eyes, sinuses and hormone regulating glands- imbalances you may see or feel here can sometimes show up physically- by:
· eye complaints- eye strain, blurry vision or headaches BEHIND your eyes, even conditions like cataracts or glaucoma being associated with this energy center.
· frequent Headaches or migraines
· sinus congestion or Allergies
· neurological issues- brain fog, memory challenges,& forgetfulness-and memory laps
· trouble sleeping or disrupted circadian rhythms and/ or insomnia
The third eye /or the Brow Chakra is the seat of intuition and wisdom. Located in the center of the forehead, it influences how clearly we see the world, how deeply we see ourselves, and how connected we feel to something larger than our daily lives.
Here is a blend suggestion for a Clear mind & vision- the purpose of this oil blend is to help you calm and clear your mind.
3 drops sandalwood
2 drop Frankincense
2 drops Bergamot- this helps freshen the smell
1 drop lavender
1 drop Clary Sage
Mix with 1 tablespoon jojoba or coconut oil
When in balance, we live with clarity , imagination, and purpose. When out of balance- confusion, headaches, eye strain, or doubt can set in. But with mindful practices, meditation, visualization, essential oils, & nourishing foods- we can restore its flow.
