In today's episode I talk about truly severe allergies. Often when people think of allergies they don't think about the fact that some are severe enough to kill a person. I'm actually one of those people with a huge allergy list, and many of those allergens are life threatening to me.

In talking and interacting with people regularly I find they don't really get it. And that's frustrating at times, so today's post covers what can happen to a severe allergy sufferer. If you ever invite someone to dinner or a cook out and they have some bad food allergies???? Well, don't feel bad, it's not you, it's the food!

Since the Airstream first hit the road in 2006 there have always been Apple products in it. I hit the road with a MacBook Pro in 2006. Years later I purchased my second MacBook, and finally the Macbook Pro that I've had since 2014. I'm not an Apple "fan boy." The products have worked well for me for years, especially while being highly mobile.

Today I'm beginning to have concerns when it comes to Apple's direction with the laptop and desktop market. I think they're focusing more on "form over function," and I think that's a dangerous road. With so much focus on iOS, and think they're losing their vision on "development grade" equipment. Only time will tell.

Here we are. Another weekend is over and it's back to work for most listeners. I've got projects lined up for the week from the Airstream so I've got work to do. But sometimes working remote can be a little lonely. If you don't work with a team, have people to interact with during the day, you can find yourself missing being part of a larger group.

Today’s episode was put together with my iPhone 8 and Apple’s AirPods. During the recording I kept calling the AirPods air buds. Whoops! I wanted to test the audio quality with the Anchor app and the AirPods. Listening to an excerpt I’m not super happy with the audio quality provided by the AirPods. Live and learn. That’s part of experimenting with tech that’s new to you. Also in this episode I talk about turning off notifications and how that can help your concentration and work. My favorite way to procrastinate happens to be instagram. So I have notifications turned off on it so I don’t spend a lot of time on it every day!

Some of you may be familiar with this story. For other listeners this might be a new one on you. It's a sad story at points, but please don't feel bad. It's also a story that explains why I'm not running around more with the Airstream.

I'm posting this podcast today to help myself talk through what's been going on with me medically recently. Consider it a self help podcast for the day. For today's tech Tuesday we're talking about a few issues. Strange fake e-mails hit our inboxes every day. Today I received a good one and I share it with you. For the next topic, "Unlimited wireless data plans." Yeah, words don't mean what they used to. When there are limitations on an Unlimited plan, somehow the carriers want us to believe they're still unlimited. Dictionaries for everyone! Finally I touch base on a topic I want to talk about more. Whether your a highly mobile tech pro, or a regular Internet user, Net Neutrality is a big issue that needs to be addressed more. What do you think?

This week won't be my typical work week. Two days are totally shot this week due to some medical issues and visits to doctors. Part of the reason I'm building my own business is to allow me the flexibility to deal with some medical problems that have been going on for over a decade now. And this summer has been very trying due to those issues. In order to address the medical stuff I really have to be very flexible about my work hours, and working for myself allows that flexibility. My clients don't care what time of day I'm sitting at my computer, so long as the work is done!
