You made it! It’s been quite the journey as you’ve made your way on the winding Hana Highway. You’ve walked through rainforests, swam in waterfalls, and witnessed the raw beauty of the coastline. Stop for a bite to eat, pick up fruit from a market, hike up to Fagan’s Cross, and top off your gas tank if you need to for the journey home. E Komo Mai!

If you want to do something really adventurous, book a flight with Maui Skydiving or Hang Gliding Maui. Both companies are based at the Hana Airport.

We asked John to share his thoughts about Maui slowly transitioning into opening back up to visitors. John also shares some of the things he’s learned through the shutdown, including soloing an airplane for the first time!

It’s been an exciting journey, and you’ve almost made it to Hana town. Before you enjoy the beauty and charm of Hana, there are a few stops you might want to add to your itinerary. Coconut Glen’s has shakas-down our favorite ice cream in the world. Shhhh… it’s vegan! Nahiku might be a great choice for your lunch break. The Hana Lava Tube is a fun place for kids, or if you’re on your honeymoon, get lost in time as you stroll Kahanu Garden.

  • Road to Hana: Waterfalls at Pua'a Ka'a State Wayside Park
If one of your bucket list activities on Maui is to swim in a waterfall, the falls at Pua’a Ka’a State Wayside Park is probably our personal favorite. There is parking, restrooms, picnic tables and a dual set of waterfalls that will make your Instagram feed proud. The path to the falls is also fairly accessible, so those not wishing to hike dirt paths to other waterfalls will especially appreciate this stop on the Road to Hana.
