The Aloha 360

The Keanae peninsula on the Road to Hana is another favorite stop of ours. It combines some of the things we love most: really good snacks and jaw-dropping coastal views. Before you venture out on the peninsula, consider stopping by Keanae Arboretum for a close encounter with a grove of rainbow eucalyptus trees. Then grab some warm banana bread from Aunty and get ready for some amazing views.

Maui’s Garden of Eden is hands down one of the top stops on the Road to Hana. The Garden of Eden is a wonderland of tropical plants, flowers, views, and peacocks. Yes, peacocks! It’s honestly one of the most beautiful places on the island. As you sit on a bench, surrounded by the meticulously manicured landscape, overlooking the Pacific… you ask yourself, “Can I just stay here all day?”

The famous Twin Falls and farm stand is our next stop on the Road to Hana in Maui. Twin Falls is a privately owned property where the owner has graciously allowed residents and visitors alike to come and enjoy the beautiful waterfalls and easy walking paths lined with tropical flowers. Visit their farm stand for locally sourced fruit and snacks.

Our first stop on the Road to Hana is Paia town. Paia is an eclectic little town full of friendly smiles, natural foods and some of our favorite eateries on the island. Paia deserves a half day of exploring in itself, but at very least, stop for fuel and a good breakfast. Ho’okipa is a beach park not far from Paia famous for surfing and the sea turtles.

Over the next several weeks we’ll be taking you on an in-depth journey on the Road to Hana in Maui. There are so many incredible sights along the Hana Highway, you could easily spend 3 days exploring each one. We’ll break down some of our best tips and favorite stops from years and dozens of journeys to Hana town. The R2H has a little something for everyone, young and old, adventurous or cautious, and we hope you find your little piece of paradise in East Maui.
