The Alpha Standard

In this episode of The Alpha Standard, we sit down with Mike the Cop — a former law enforcement officer who made a radical shift from policing the streets to pastoring a church. We talk about what led to the transition, the battles he faced along the way, and how his view of leadership, faith, and masculinity has evolved. This one’s about identity, purpose, and standing firm in your convictions when everything around you says to fold.

In the first episode of The Alpha Standard, I sit down with my mentor, Tom “Tex” Blauvelt—a man with 28 years of distinguished service as a police officer, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a strong follower of Christ. This was a powerful and emotional conversation about faith, family, and the lessons learned from a life of service.
