Multi-disciplinary artist, David Brits, has unveiled his first public sculpture at the new Aerobiology TB Research Facility at the Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation in Masiphumelele, an area near to where the artist grew up and a community close to his heart.

He spoke to us about the sculpture which explores pattern as the basis for understanding.

Having conquered the styling and millinery worlds, Crystal Birch is now a co-owner of one of the last three hat factories in South Africa and whose irreverent designs of classic hats have become beloved adornments on the heads of South Africa’s fashion conscious.

She will operate the Tron unmanned aerial vehicle, a highly specialised aircraft to transport emergency blood packs from blood banks to district hospitals.

Leana de Beer, CEO of Feenix spoke to us about her Crowdfunding organisation Feenix, which was born out the need to address the issue of access to tertiary education for all. It serves as a digital platform, where businesses and individuals are able to donate funds to students.

Our guest presenter was Smangele Sibisi, founder and creator of Indalo Nubian Naturals: a natural hair salon that boasts in the grooming and maintaining of authentic, ethnic, African hair. She spoke about her business and entrepreneurship as a means of combating youth unemployment .
