My guests for this segment is a politically and community involved FAMILY AFFAIR! My guests are Berdetta Hodge, mother, and her two sons, Jevin Hodge and Jazin Hodge.
The Hodges are making a difference in the city of Tempe and the state of Arizona.
Berdetta Hodge is the first African American to be elected to any office in Tempe. In 2016 she was elected to the Tempe Union High School District (TUHSD) Governing Board. She currently serves as the president of the board. She is running for re-election to TUHSD board.
For over 25 years she has served as a proud leader in the community and schools for over twenty five years - first as a student and now as a parent and advocate. She has had the honor to serve on several site and district advisory committees, booster clubs, and parental engagement groups for Tempe and Phoenix schools. She is very active with the Black Students Union groups in the Tempe Union schools, where she volunteers as mentor and assists with their community engagement efforts.
Berdetta lives and breathes education and has served as a board member of the Booker T. Washington Child Development Center. She also serves on the the Mesa Art Center Foundation, a member of the East Valley NAACP leadership team as an education liaison, and as the First Vice Chairwoman of the Legislative District 26 Democrats. As an endorsed member of Arizona’s List - the leading organization electing pro-choice women, Berdetta actively works to help women get elected around the state of Arizona. Her favorite quote is “Our fingertips never fade from the lives we touch.”
Listen in as I discuss with her community involvement, the challenges of facing her school district in this COVID-19 era and raising two civically engaged Black sons.

Jevin is a proud advocate for local communities. He has been involved in policy advising and campaign management at the municipal, state, and federal level. Including advising top level government officials and key business leaders on how to best engage millennials.
Jevin is deeply involved in his community. He serves as the Chair of the Booker T. Washington Child Development Center, is the former President of the Tempe Union High Schools Education Foundation, and sits on the boards of several non-profit charitable institutions around Arizona.
Join us as I discuss his candidacy, the responsibilities of a county supervisor.
