Story Transcript:

Nl: In het hart van Amsterdam, tussen de krioelende mensen, leefde Emma.
En: In the heart of Amsterdam, among the bustling people, lived Emma.

Nl: Emma had een vriend, Lucas.
En: Emma had a friend, Lucas.

Nl: Emma en Lucas waren heel verschillend, maar ze deelden één passie: fietsen.
En: Emma and Lucas were very different, but they shared one passion: cycling.

Nl: Ze woonden in een stad vol fietsers, waar zelfs de meeuwen op fietsbellen reageren.
En: They lived in a city full of cyclists, where even the seagulls responded to bike bells.

Nl: Eén dag was er een grote wielerwedstrijd.
En: One day, there was a big cycling race.

Nl: Emma en Lucas deden mee.
En: Emma and Lucas participated.

Nl: Ze waren zo opgewonden!
En: They were so excited!

Nl: De start was bij het Rijksmuseum, en de finish was aan de andere kant van de stad, vlakbij het centraal station.

En: They hurried through streets full of people, over narrow bridges, along winding canals.

Nl: De mensen naast de weg juichten.
En: The people alongside the road cheered.

Nl: De fietsers waren net een zwerm snelle vogels.
En: The cyclists were like a swarm of fast birds.

Nl: Maar, o jee!
En: But, oh no!

Nl: Daar stond een toerist.
En: There was a tourist standing there.

Nl: Hij maakte een selfie, midden op de weg.
En: He was taking a selfie, right in the middle of the road.

Nl: Lucas zag hem eerst.
En: Lucas saw him first.

Nl: Lucas riep, "Pas op!
En: Lucas shouted, "Watch out!"

Nl: " Maar het was te laat.
En: But it was too late.

Nl: Met een lichte bons botste Emma tegen de toerist aan.
En: With a slight bump, Emma collided with the tourist.

Nl: Beiden vielen ze op de grond.
En: Both of them fell to the ground.

Nl: Het was een grote rommel.
En: It was a big mess.

Nl: De wielerwedstrijd was even gestopt.
En: The cycling race was momentarily stopped.

Nl: Iedereen lachte.
En: Everyone laughed.

Nl: Het was zo grappig om te zien.
En: It was so funny to see.

Nl: Emma en de toerist stonden op.
En: Emma and the tourist got up.

Nl: Ze waren niet gewond, gelukkig.
En: Fortunately, they were not injured.

Nl: Ze keken elkaar aan en begonnen ook te lachen.
En: They looked at each other and started laughing too.

Nl: De toerist zei sorry.
En: The tourist apologized.

Nl: Emma zei ook sorry.
En: Emma also apologized.

Nl: Ze gaven elkaar een hand.
En: They shook hands.

Nl: Toen stapte iedereen weer op hun fiets.
En: Then everyone got back on their bikes.

Nl: De wedstrijd ging verder.
En: The race continued.

Nl: Emma en Lucas eindigden niet eerste.
En: Emma and Lucas didn't finish first.

Nl: Ze waren laatste.
En: They came in last.

Nl: Maar dat maakte niet uit.
En: But it didn't matter.

Nl: Ze hadden de hele dag gelachen.
En: They had laughed all day.

Nl: Onder de foto staat: "De dag dat de toerist het verkeerde moment koos voor de perfecte selfie.
En: Under the photo, it says: "The day the tourist chose the wrong moment for the perfect selfie."

Nl: " En iedereen die het verhaal hoort, lacht.
En: And everyone who hears the story laughs.

Nl: Het is het grappigste verhaal van de stad.
