The Angels Among Us

In this episode Diane and I discuss her making the transition to the Iraqi culture. She talks about being lonely in the apartment when Hashim wasn't there. How she began to make friends with her neighbors and shopkeepers. How she felt when her friend Joe had passed. Lastly how common it was for Kurdish people to live in Baghdad.

In this episode, Diane and I talk about her making the adjustment to living in a new country. Dr. Hassan talks about some of the cultural differences she encountered and finally having the opportunity to live in her own home.

In this episode we will discuss, how Diane got to NY from Alabama, and If it was her first time in NY. How she almost missed the plane to Iraq, when she arrived in Europe. What she was feeling when she finally landed in Baghdad, and reunited with Hashim, and ultimately meeting his family. Lastly, how was it like adjusting to the drivers in Iraq where there wasn't any speed limits.

Next Diane talks about her relationship with John and the importance of that relationship while she was in college. How Jameel introduced Diane to Hashim who ultimately becomes her husband.
