It's great to be back in the podcast seat! It's been a while, so I'm delighted to have been joined by someone who I've been desperate to speak to for so long.
Kat and I talk about a diagnosis of Triple negative breast cancer, treatment and we touch slightly on fertility! A subject that both Kat and I feel strongly about.
Kat is a great guest, brings lots of hints and tips to those going through treatment.
A pleasure to sit down with and add into this library of experiences
This week's episode is slightly different, in that Hayley sits down with Caroline, a Mammographer! Caroline gives insight and statistics into what a Mammogram is and very importantly, what to expect in your appointment! You will be staggered with the statistics of people not attending their Mammograms. The stigma needs to be removed and we need to talk about the benefits of attending, instead of a few minutes of discomfort!
Take a listen, and let us know what you learn!
This week, Hayley sits down with....herself! That's right, Hayley decided that this week needed some time to pause and reflect.
Hayley reflects on the podcast itself, about different treatments that we have both heard about, but also that Hayley has researched herself, on placed like Breast Cancer Now.
Give this a listen, you won't regret it!

Hayley sits down and has a chat with Louise, who is not only taking on London Marathon this coming weekend, but she is doing it topless! Louise is raising awareness to promote the need for research around Lobular Breast Cancer. Her diagnosis was a shock to her, following a Mammogram only 3 weeks earlier being clear! Lobular Breast cancer does not show as a mass, which can make it difficult to detect.
Have a listen into Louise's diagnosis and everything she is doing to raise money for Breast Cancer Now.
If you can, Louise's Enthuse donation link is here - https://2024tcslondonmarathon.enthuse.com/pf/louise-bucher?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR3L-WEtJNTBQzicl4X6D6wYFjVyrtfA9KsjTCzzdOZOkrEV5ysrUbOwc8I_aem_AaHn__faQ5m83JHXGaZrMBAi0CbMh3LLvK8tOpjcTrWH3CL2N7w_j3CWvkZT3KpY25_tE9uuGaLvrX6TFm2PzKz3

This week we are getting the perspective of the partners! Hayley is joined by Darren and Simon, who have partners, Lisa and Jo. Lisa and Jo have both had a primary diagnosis of Breast Cancer, and Lisa now has a diagnosis of Secondary Breast cancer in her liver.
Hayley wanted to talk to the partner's, so that she can understand from their perspective, what support can be offered to people who may be experiencing the same as them.
Hayley sits down with Jo to discuss life pre-cancer, through to the end of her active treatment. Jo brings a wealth of awareness to the episode, including teaching us exactly why we shouldn’t just check our boobs, but our armpits and collarbone too! Jo also answers a question from our community, as well as giving her Parting Gambit.
We also talk about a film that was made following the drug Herceptin being found to treat people with Breast Cancer. The film is called “Living proof”.
Remember, Hayley is raising money and awareness this year for Breast Cancer Now, so if you can spare a few £'s, then head over to her just giving page to show your support.

Episode 1 brings Hayley together with the wonderful Jo Hammond! Jo shares her experience of Breast Cancer and life afterwards! We talk about her response to finding out about her diagnosis, her treatment, life after diagnosis and a really interesting topic, “survivors guilt”.
