SUMMARY
In this new episode of The Animashow, Sabry’s guests are “Ultraman Rising” new Netflix animated movie’s co-directors: Shannon Tindle and John Aoshima. This is a brand new adaptation of the iconic Japanese Superhero created in 1966 by Eiji Tsuburaya, co-creator of the Godzilla and Ultraman franchises. Tsuburaya is considered one of the most important and influential figures in the history of cinema. The movie follows the story of Ken Sato, a young man who is forced to become Ultraman, a superhero, after his father is injured. This film blends action, comedy, and drama, showcasing breathtaking visuals influenced by Japanese animation and live-action cinema. As a result, viewers can witness Ken Sato transform into a towering 40-meter Ultraman, racing off to confront a variety of fantastical creatures. This is exactly what audiences expect from an Ultraman movie! We also explore deep themes of family, responsibility, and the struggle between personal desires and duty. Throughout the vibrant worlds of manga, video games, and films, Ultraman has stood as the ultimate protector, fighting against monstrous beings both on land and in the sea. Discovery. Aurélie a collaboré sur des franchises célèbres partout dans le monde comme Harry Potter, Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, ou encore Tom & Jerry. Le rôle d’Aurélie et de son équipe est de rencontrer les producteurs, d'évaluer les projets, de négocier les droits et de fournir des notes éditoriales tout au long du processus de production. Si vous êtes producteurs d’animation, sachez que cette interview est faite pour vous : Warner Bros. Discovery recherche des projets avec une vision créative forte, et un budget et un plan de financement clairs. Leur équipe reçoit entre 400 et 500 projets par an et évalue chacun d'entre eux. Ensemble, Sabry et Aurélie abordent les critères de sélection mis en place par Warner Bros. Discovery pour valider des projets et compléter le slate existant de productions originales, et les défis posés par l'évolution du paysage médiatique. En rendant Fortnite accessible sur différentes plateformes, par tous et à travers le monde, Epic Games a révolutionné l’industrie du jeu vidéo. L'incursion de l'Unreal Engine dans l'animation est récente, et a été révélée aux grand public notamment par le court-métrage primé aux Oscars cette année, "War is Over", 100% réalisé avec Unreal. Depuis son intrusion dans le secteur, Epic Games s'engage à aider les studios d'animation à adopter la technologie de 3D temps-réel en offrant un soutien technique, des subventions et des licences simplifiées. Julien a réalisé le film Pil et plusieurs saisons de la série “Les As de la Jungle” qui connaît un succès dans le monde entier. Dans cette conversation, Julien souligne l'importance de puiser son inspiration dans ses propres référentiels, comme le cinéma de genre qu’il affectionne particulièrement et de ne pas hésiter à remettre en question les normes en matière de narration, pour créer des œuvres qui plaisent aux enfants comme aux adultes. Julien nous partage son expérience en tant que scénariste, réalisateur et showrunner dans l'industrie de l'animation, en décryptant les caractéristiques d’une bonne propriété intellectuelle et les enjeux d’adaptation et de distribution des œuvres à l’international. Dans le cas des As de la Jungle, la collaboration entre le diffuseur France Télévision et les créateurs de la série, les frères Jean-François et Eric Tosti et David Alaux a été un facteur clé du succès de la série. La conversation explore les mécanismes et les contraintes de la création d'une série comme “Les As de la Jungle”, en équilibrant l'univers parodique avec un sens du réalisme.
