When a plan falls through, well, sure, it causes stress, but then you improvise. We're back with episode 20, as we explain why this episode was off the cuff, and why we think it turned out better than it could have. We turned our frown upside down and made the best of a stressful situation. How apropos!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental health is important all year round, but we want to make sure that this month, especially, we highlight the ways that you can take care of your mental wellness, people who are doing so much in the industry, and just hope that we can be ambassadors ourselves in the way of mental health because really, that is the backbone of how Arner Adventures got started.

Travel is back everyone, you heard us, TRAVEL IS BACK! We are elated because traveling is where we get rejuvenated! We had the pleasure of experiencing the much anticipated Virgin Voyages cruise experience aboard, Scarlet Lady. Our excursion was the "Dominican Daze" voyage, to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and North Bimini Island, to the Beach Club at Bimini. We recorded this episode on our last evening aboard the cruise ship, and wanted to talk about our experience, and answer listeners' questions. It's Women's History Month, and our guest is the perfect shining light for women. Today’s episode is a “Spark in our lives” guest episode where we interview someone who is a spark in our lives. She puts so many good vibes out into the world, but she does so much for women, lifting them up. Our guest this week is mental health advocate, self-care queen, and lifestyle blogger, LaToi Storr, also known as Toi.

Toi is a lifestyle blogger, podcaster, and content creator. Her other responsibilities include being a wife and mother of three. As a content creator her stance has always been to talk about mental health, which resonates with us, of course.

When she first started her blog 7 years ago, it was after her therapist encouraged her to tell her story and write– as this was her passion. Since then, she has gone on to speak at conferences. She is SheMedia partner- through SheMedia and the BlogHer conferences is how we connected, and we are so thankful we did.

Her goals will remain to uplift, encourage, and help other women with her storytelling. She is dedicated to telling the stories even when things don't look glamorous. In her spare time you can find her walking the aisles of Target (with no shame) or at a coffee shop making sure she is getting her self-care time. We are so thankful she took some of her self-care time to chat with us on our podcast.

Our guest this week is Curt DeBerg.

Curt DeBerg, a retired accounting professor from California State University, has spent the past few years traveling the world in the footsteps of Ernest Hemingway, which if you know us, you know is near and dear to our hearts. Curt has meticulously documented his journey along the way, not only documented, but literally stayed in the places where Hemingway stayed, lived, spent time, and you can see and read about his experiences in the beautiful coffee table-sized book “Traveling the World with Hemingway." It incorporates new and historical photos, as well as narrative and 240 full-color pages. We met Curt in Key West last year during the annual Hemingway Days, and are honored to have him join us on the show today.
