In this episode, we meet Lisa’s friend Heather – another casual work affair that turned into a long-term relationship (which seems to be a trend with beautiful ladies named Heather!) We dive into how they met, candidly discuss their age gap and the impact it has on their friendship (spoiler alert – it’s ZERO) and how to handle it when someone assumes Lisa is Heather’s mother. Watch the full episode on YouTube or www.theartofmakingfriends.com for bonus video of Heather’s sick dance moves – you won’t be disappointed! And while your on YouTube, go ahead and subscribe!

DISCLAIMER: Lab and tissue talk not for weak stomachs. But aren’t you glad there are people willing to do this work?
Let's all get weird with Erin's millennial friend, Heather! Heather is an impressively gifted histotechnologist who knows how to bring the fun to the most dismal of long work days. We talk a bit of shop about the laboratory world in which they met and then get into the heart of what defines friendship: absurd, laughter-fueled conversations about everything and mostly nothing at all. Friendship fills the voids in your life with laughter or tears, general nonsense and the overwhelming feeling of human connection and belonging.
This week, we reference some of our other friends and badass suit recruits from earlier episodes...
Hear about our dancing queen, Kim, in episode 15.
Catch up with all things CC, who attended the same high school as Heather, in episode 11.
Check out Greg and all his weird in episode 10.
Heck, go all the way back to our Megasode episode 1 to hear how and why Lisa's Mookie painting is the patron saint of the pod.

In this episode, we meet Lisa’s longest friend, Kim – both literally and chronologically! At 5’8”, she truly is Lisa’s longest friend…but she’s also the friend she’s had in her life the longest. Even with a lengthy break in their teens/early adulthood due to moving around and no technology in those days, Kim and Lisa kept finding each other and picking up right where they left off. They’ve been partners in crime, dance partners and, most importantly, partners in this beautiful thing we call friendship! #happydance

Please join us this week to meet Erin's superhero friend Col. Kate. Kate is a family medicine Army doc who can not only handle your diabetes and asthma, but also (shockingly) military grade firearms.
Hear how Kate and Erin forged a friendship in the foxholes of early medical training and found a lifelong sisterhood based in love, service and lots of laughter. After 9/11 turned our world upside down in their last year of medical school, Kate made a decision that would initiate her deployment to Iraq and spark an entire medical career dedicated to the care of our deserving service members.
It starts there and where it ends...well, there is just no way to know. But, listen to this week's episode to find out why you should go "zero to goat" on everything Col. Kate. We know that she will be your superhero, too.

In this episode, we meet Lisa’s friend Kayte – a deep and instant friendship forged by the love of Drumbeat Red and marked by initial assumptions, spontaneous (and borderline irrational) decisions, weaponized karaoke and why we are all much more confused than we are convinced.
Although Kayte keeps a list of reasons why they shouldn’t be friends, sometimes a friendship that doesn’t appear to work on paper is exactly the friendship you need.
Shout out to Selena for introducing them way back when!

This week, we meet CC - aka Carolina, that's with an "EEEna" at the end - Erin and Greg's friend who hails all the way from Generation Z. She defies characterization and will frankly require you to listen to the episode! We discuss the dynamics of work, position, age and gender in the context of friendship. CC finds the fun and laughter in life, but also sees BS with a clarity that makes us proud. CC will surely make you proud of our newest members of the workforce and potentially spark some general interest in exploring new intergenerational friendships, whether older or younger!
The OG tracksuit can be found here and it's on sale! https://amzn.to/44DwnLS

In this week’s Gregisode, we meet Greg. Well, more specifically, you meet Greg, because we both already know and love him. We learn how Greg and Erin met at the beginning of medical school, became friends, then eventually “more” as the insanity of their combined experience became funnier to them and stranger to those around them. As their friend Igor said when they started dating, “weird and weird don’t cancel each other out,” and no truer words have ever been spoken.
While some unique photos have survived the late 1990-early 2000 technology chasm, imagine the relief of having zero photos of one’s engagement! We hope you enjoy the images that made it and the generally great hang that always ensues when these three little birds get together.
Our apologies to nuns everywhere. You don’t really need any additional BS. Thanks to @kirven and Patrick and Leigh @dominio4 for their participation in this courtship. Check out Patrick and Leigh’s delicious wine or visit their vineyard and tasting room in Hood River and McMinnville, Oregon!

In Episode 9 we meet Mark – Lisa’s best friend from high school that turned into a brother. They discuss the hilarious social hierarchy of their very small school, the validity of platonic male/female friendships, how his amazing parents welcomed Lisa into their family and how a 25-year gap in their friendship did nothing to destroy their incredible bond.
Pro tip – Watch this episode for some AMAZING senior pictures! Special shout outs to @dmcoback – Mark’s amazing wife, Dawn – and @wheelofawesome band!

In the 8th episode, Erin and Lisa have their first official “business” meeting – and segue into talking about things they have no business talking about – movies about friendship. Cause the thing is – they are both basically movie illiterates. Yeah, this episode is a real doozy!
Editor’s Note – Shawshank Redemption came out in 1994 and at its core, is deeply about the friendship between Andy and Red. The film argues that human connection can survive even the bleakest of environments. We all agree it is an amazing movie!!
So, what are some of the movies about friendship that we missed? Drop them in the comments.
