  • Show 42 - Artistic Inspiration... at Lord Howe Island

Artistic inspiration... such a fascinating topic!

I went to Lord Howe Island and realised this was a place a lot like an island I had designed for my own creative graphic novel series. God gave me so many interesting insights about this place. Amazing people, stunning birdlife, and a rich locational history to be discovered.

Come along for a journey with me as I look for fresh ideas to add to my Jett & Mace comic book series.

God bless for your week ahead!

  • Show 41 - Scripture in Song (with JM@C)

What if we put Scripture directly into our songs? What would that sound like?

Come with me, Jon (or JM@C), as I take you through a journey of possibilities! Hip-Hop, ambient, experimental music, and more... there are ample ways of sharing God's Word through song.

Maybe you've heard a Bible verse in a Christian pop song and been encouraged by it. This is a topic worth exploring!

God bless for your week ahead, and look out for new episodes soon!

  • Show 40 - The Greatest Artist: A Hotham Journal

Greetings friends! I'm at the snow in Hotham!

It seemed a great time to create a special episode of The Art of Ministry that explores the greatest artist of all... our wonderful God.

This is an audio journal of my time in the snowy mountains of Hotham, where I encountered beautiful snow, icy streets, a scenic lookout of Mt Kosciuszko, and frost all over the car in the morning. And, plenty of lessons about the beauty of God's stunning creation.

May God bless you, wherever you are in the world!

    • Show 37 - The Best Free or Low Cost Digital Tools!

Hi everyone! Welcome to another episode of The Art Of Ministry!

Currently, the economic situation in many countries is posing a challenge. And for Christian artists, we're often looking for ways to create our art inexpensively. So it seemed a good idea to make an episode centred on just that: looking at the best free or low cost digital tools for creating gospel-centred art!

The breadth of this subject is immense, so this episode looks at some of the most prominent examples that could benefit listeners.

As stated in the episode, you may find these tools can help you to make art and creative pieces for church, parachurch organisations, you own blog posts, and so on. A secondary benefit is that you might even be able to use them at your workplace... and perhaps a conversation might start up where you can share your other artistic output, even opening up gospel conversations and opportunities!

You are always welcome to suggest other tools on our Facebook page. Join the conversation! We'd love to hear from you.

May the Lord bless you this week!

God bless, Jon (The Art of Ministry)

    • Show 36 - The Japan Diaries 5/5: World Expo Osaka, Kansai

Welcome to Episode 5 of 'The Japan Diaries', the final episode of this series, covering The Art of Ministry's visit to the wonderful country of Japan!

This fifth episode covers the visit to World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai. Over 25 million people visited the World Expo from around the world, a place where art and innovation were present in abundance.

Journey with me through complex artistic sculptures, futuristic new vehicles, and explorations of new technologies. All the time I am asking; "What is the Christian perspective in what I am seeing today?"

At the end of this episode is a summary of my thoughts around this Japan visit, and what I feel might be some important takeaways for the church.

Thank you for listening to The Japan Diaries!
