After discovering an odd and certainly unexpected connection between the clue wrapped in the piece of plastic she'd pilfered from the Cherry Pitts tragedy, Kandy makes a hasty exit from Mdm. JuJu's humble home, much to the relief of the clairvoyant. The diminutive detective had contacted a family member of the man she knew HAD to be responsible for what she'd found in Cherry's retro kitchenette. And despite her being less than thrilled to have to travel anywhere near metropolitan Miami, that is where her trail was leading her, and, per her usual MO, the frazzled flatfoot put pedal to the metal as she careened down I-95 S toward the Miami skyline. She was on a mission.

Kandy is caught off guard when she discovers what the crumpled clue she'd confiscated contains. She momentarily diverts to daydreaming about her fateful encounter with a gentle giant Jamaican years earlier and the realization that the clue she'd uncovered was directly tied to her old friend, Marley Jagger.

Kandy returns to Mdm. JuJu's adobe bungalow feigning exhaustion in order to sequester herself behind closed doors to more closely inspect the crumpled piece of cellophane she'd retrieved from the crime scene at 1295 Mango, while Mdm. JuJu pondered when and where the wacky young woman might exact her "revenge" for having served her a "mickey" the night before, and before realizing she'd made a boo-boo in accusing Kandy of having left a mind-altering substance in the Medium's guest room during Kandy's aforementioned previous last visit.

Kandy confiscates a clue found inside the house where a murder has recently occurred and hides this evidence from an increasingly discombobulated Foster. In all his years as a Professional Law Enforcement official he had never met a woman as .... indescribably intriguing as Kandy, though his intrigue was a mystery even to the suave, experienced in life and love, GOBBI Agent.

Our precocious P.I. gets more than she bargained for when she appears on the scene of a murder that had been reported shortly before Mdm. JuJu had administered her a cup of tea spiked with a substance the older chanteuse had mistakenly blamed Kandy for leaving secreted in her home. At the scene of the gruesome crime Kandy meets her nemesis, a dapper Agent from the Good Old Boys Bureau of Investigation (GOBBI), and the two clash head on into a whirlwind love-hate relationship from the moment they meet.
