Teaser: Did you know, that I was once an opera singer wannabe? Those who ever had the misfortune of being my audience, will know I was trying very hard. In any case, even though I never realised my dream, I learnt some lessons about how opera singers produce an aesthetic experience for their audience with multisensory integration relying not just on audio but also complex orofacial movements. Particularly interesting was that the visual effect of their expressions, controlled by facial manipulation, dominated the overall evaluation of the performance. Their emotions, perceived through their facial expressions, were preferentially interpreted by observers as composed into the audio performance. In my opinion, this sets the stage for further research into multi-sensory integration in applied settings, and in my particular area of expertise, the study of beauty and aesthetic phenomena. Join me, Dr.TWL in my journey exploring the art of the lips, a symbol of sensual femininity, as we discover the hidden secrets in the art of oration, while playing with some lipsticks.
