On this episode I am joined by Kimberly Dodson. She is a Baltimore native and a lover of knitting, contemporary art museums, video games, reading really good books, taking walks in new neighborhoods, true crime podcasts, beautiful hikes, flowers, Indian Jones movies (only the original 3), long talks with her friends who are all like family, and other cat-like/grandma-like activities like looking out the window and taking naps. She also happens to make money primarily as a theatre worker. She has been a working performer for over 8 years and has been employed by companies that are responsible for things you would never see and some things you may have. Her last long term employment was with the company Train Times LP. Or probably more easily identified as Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway.

On this episode I am joined by actress, author, and the founder of Sippin’ Success Walnette Santiago. Sippin’ Success, is a highly sought after community of actors choosing to live under the influence of success both on and most importantly, off camera. Born in San German, Puerto Rico and raised in the gritty streets of the Bronx, New York, Walnette is no stranger to culture and resilience allowing her to gracefully embody roles from different walks of life like BMF’s queen pin to a member of Doom Patrol’s LGBTQ community, ATLANTA’s memorable stripper and the CW’s Dynasty elite, to name a few. The oldest of six takes pride in having been led to expand her role in leadership by empowering rising actors to believe in their power and eradicate limiting beliefs to manifest the desires of their heARTs. From 10 years of kissing the stage with her salsa dance shoes to 5 years of silver screen performances, the purpose driven talent has no limits in the arts and will continue breaking through glass ceilings while pouring into others on her inevitable rise.

Hello! Welcome to Season 4 of The Artist Pivot Podcast! To both new and regular listeners, thank you so much for joining me! My name is Ayana Major Bey, I am an actress, voice over artist, mentor, and your host. This show is a bi-weekly conversation highlighting pivots and life lessons from the perspective of artists, those who work in and around the arts, and arts educators. For those listening who don’t consider themselves artists you can pivot too, everyone possesses the ability to do so, you just have to be reminded sometimes. All of our life lessons have taught us to be better pivoters and it is my goal to share these life lessons to guide and inspire others. Here is a sneak peek of this season's conversations.

Make sure you hit the subscribe button if you haven’t already to get notified when a new episode is out. You can also find and connect with me on instagram @theartistpivot to see audiograms, fun facts, and posts featuring my guests. Thank you for tuning in and I’ll speak to you soon.

On this episode I am wrapping up Season 3! I want to say thank you to all my guests for sharing their journey’s and pivots. Thank you to all my listeners especially to those who have left reviews and reached out to me on instagram. Thank you to my editor Kieran Niemand, you sir are a rockstar. This season I have taken away many lessons but my top 3 would be to live a full life as a person outside of my craft, that rest is revolutionary, and I always have a choice. I hope that you have picked up some gems of wisdom this season too! There will be a Season 4 of The Artist Pivot podcast that will launch in early 2022. For now I would like to leave you with what I call a podcast audio blooper reel. You know how sometimes TV and film will show you behind the scene outtakes or blooper reels, well I have created one for this season of the podcast. You see, sometimes I press the record button and the beginning of conversation doesn't make the final edit because it’s usually way off topic. So, to wrap up Season 3 here are some never before heard audio clips for your enjoyment. I wish everyone a happy holiday season and a Happy New Year! Speak to you in 2022!

On this episode I am joined by mindset coach and performer Rachel Josefina. She is the host of the Mindset in the Making podcast and is a mindset coach for anyone looking to drop the hustle mentality and find their worthiness in themselves rather than in their industry. After living in the musical theatre hustle for almost a decade, she was determined to find another way, and that's when she found the love and energy of the Universe. This spiritual awakening changed her life and now she is on a mission to share this love and abundance with as many people as possible. We discuss granting yourself grace, shifting mindsets, and that you always have a choice. You get to choose how you want your career to fit into your life.
