October 29, 2023 Reggie for President Glen Theatre November 4th
Reggie from the Blackrock Road is the richest man in Cork by a huge margin in fairness to him.
He lives in a 6.4 million euro mansion and has established a massive following on social media with his attacks on Liz Truss, northsiders, Kerry people and Kanturk.
After years of tyranny under Michael D. Higgins (who is from Limerick) Reggie has decided to run for Uachtarán na hÉireann, which means President of Ireland in case you only did pass Irish for the Inter Cert. In the run up to the election in 2025, Reggie will travel around Forgotten Ireland, those small villages which have been by-passed by progress and advances in personal hygiene. As part of this tour he will be in the Glen Theatre on Saturday 4th November, reaching out to the ordinary people of north Cork without touching them, unless they are gorgeous. You don’t want to miss it, and he joined Elmarie in studio on Sunday for a chat!

Shy, sincere and conscientious, Eve Harrington’s dream is realised when she is taken on as a personal secretary by her actress idol, Margo Crane. However, Eve’s seemingly innocent and devoted demeanour masks her true intentions– to usurp Margo’s position in the theatre world and become the new reigning star. Many people know or have heard of the film version of this story, starring Bette Davis and Anne Baxter. But this is a rare chance to see the stage version with an amazingly strong Cork cast of leading ladies!! And they joined Elmarie in studio on Sunday. One of the few male cast members, Jim O Mahony, also treated everyone to a bit of smooth Sinatra for the Jazz weekend!

October 28, 2023 Kinsale Samhain Festival
Well everyone knows Halloween is October 31st, and it's sparked a whole series of amazing Halloween themed events. Like the Banshee Walk in Bandon on Friday nigh October 27th, which starts on South Main Street in the town at 7pm. There's music from the Fresh Air Collective, and a Fireshow from Rogu then at 7.30 up at the Shambles!
Leap Scarecrow Festival also gets underway in earnest with everything from Witches Wheelbarrow Races to Scary Movies, Broomstick making workshops, and judging for all the scarecrows you can see as you go through the village. The Ballydehob Jazz Festival 2023 Samhain Parade is on 6pm SUNDAY 29th October 2023 in Ballydehob Village. The parade theme is ‘Away With The Birds’…all masks, costumes, creatures have been made in the village.. All welcome to come along, dress up and take flight and then there’s an After The Parade Party in Levis..
And this year Kinsale is bringing lots of events together in its inaugural Samhain Festival, so Elmarie rang Yvonne Coughlan of RSVP productions to find out all about it.
