Boom Nouveau is the second of five sculptures that will make up Island City - Cork’s Urban Sculpture Trail.
Four of the sculptures were commissioned after a competitive process, supported by the National Sculpture Factory, with a fifth being chosen through an open call process.
In June, the first sculpture was unveiled on Carey’s Lane - Sentinels [flew through the ages in the shape of birds], by Niamh McCann.
Over the coming months the remaining three sculptures will be installed on the Exchange Building on Princes Street, The Coal Quay and Triskel Christchurch.
The temporary artworks will remain in situ for a period of five years.
