There’s a lot that we could be afraid of in the world today, and it feels like things are getting harder and scarier all the time! The news gets worse and the world feels darker. Pastor Josh’s words a moment ago are sobering. Did he just describe you? Are you follower of Jesus that’s put God on the back burner of your life? One of the clear indicators that you are walking in harmony with God’s will for your life is that you regularly confess and repent of sin AND you have a heart for the lost people around you. So, as you listen today, ask yourself these questions, “When’s the last time I said I’m sorry to God? Do I care about my family, friends, and neighbors who don’t know Jesus?”

Something’s coming. Something big. And when it gets here you want to be on God’s side, I promise. It will be a time of judgment and if you are not on God’s side, you’ll face a judgment like you’ve never faced before. Today, Pastor Josh discusses Paul’s teaching about the righteous judgment of Jesus upon the unrighteous, about how this time will be a good time for those who have trusted Jesus, and finally about how there is a penalty for those who disobey God and the three aspects of that penalty.

You must persevere through suffering and persecution, specifically when it comes to your Christianity and faith in God. In doing so, you will be blessed for eternity in heaven. Today, Pastor Josh talks about how Paul recognizes the church’s perseverance in the suffering and persecution they are going through, and how Paul says that in their suffering and persecution in God’s name they are counted worthy of God’s kingdom, just as Jesus suffered and was persecuted for us.

Whenever you develop a pattern of doing something, a good pattern, you better stick with it and do it every day. Otherwise, you can be distracted by other patterns that bring your life down and you’ll get on the wrong track. Today, Pastor Josh discusses Paul’s acknowledgment of the patterns of the church of Thessalonica as those that are good and worthy of being implemented by other churches, specifically regarding their exceeding faith and abounding love they have for one another.
