The Autumn carnival of racing is fast approaching when we see feature races like the Listed Lex Piper Stakes and the Schweppes – Ascot 1000 Guineas on the card at Ascot on Saturday. Trix of the Trade is a short, priced favourite in the Lex Piper with the Trade Fair gelding aiming for his seventh win from only eight starts. A big watch on the Adam Durrant duo of He’s A Lucky Lad and Henchard as they head towards the WATC Derby. The fillies do battle in the Ascot 1000 Guineas. Fine Romance is a $2.50 favourite leading intro the race however the event looks a wide-open affair. The highlight race could well be the last which equates to an old-fashioned welter.
