The Authority with Joseph Pearce

Find out why an author who lived in the century before Jesus made a massive impact on the history of literature and is still very relevant today.

Joseph Pearce reveals how the Greek playwright Sophocles, through his famous series of plays about Oedipus, explores the most important aspects of Christianity.

Beginning with Homer, "The Father of Western Literature," explore what it means to actually "read" - both objectively and subjectively - to let the authority of the author himself put our own prejudices and opinions aside.

Join renowned Catholic literary scholar Joseph Pearce for a podcast from TAN that introduces you to the men and women behind history's greatest works of literature. Come along every week as we explore these renowned authors, the times and genres in which they wrote, why scholars praise their writing, and how we, as Catholics, should read and understand their works.
