How do you publish a book while being unemployed and broke?

Today, I share my story in an interview that was done at the inaugural staging of the Caribbean Authorpreneur Summit in January 2021. It was quite emotional remembering the pain of my first-time author journey. But painful journeys can lead to beautiful destinations.

I await your feedback after hearing about author journey, the lessons learnt and tips for new authors to win.

In January 2015, I published my debut book, "Heartache Queen Unshackled: My Journey Towards Liberation, Self-Acceptance and Wholeness." 

It is no longer in print and was revised and republished as Unshackled Queen in 2020.

Is writing and publishing a book profitable for first-time authors? What should we really know about the process?

In this episode, first-time author of the book, “Dare to Ask,” Garfield Robinson shares his writing and publishing journey with us, the successes, lessons he learnt along the way and things he wished he had done differently, and will do differently for his second book, “Dare to Contend.”

Garfield Robinson published his debut book, Dare to Ask: 35 Questions From Scripture That Still Matter Today in May 2021. He has been a Bible Teacher for over 28 years. He holds a B.A. in Theology from the Jamaica Theological Seminary, and is currently a discipleship leader at Portmore Gospel Assembly.

Although the Amazon sales are low, Garfield has sold 350 books via direct sales. Most first-time author sell less than 250 copies in a year.
