  • My Story My Song, by Elaine Cougler
My Story, My Song tells the fascinating tale–sometimes sweet and sometimes not–of the eldest daughter in a family of thirteen children, nine boys and four girls, growing up in the fifties and sixties in rural Ontario. The one-room schoolhouse and the church on the hill with the huge steeple both affected the lives of all who lived in that Embro community. The memoir shows a close and caring society in the midst of a burgeoning post war economy, and the changing world that provided them all so much opportunity. Those changes wrought challenges for everyone.

  • Yesteryear, by Stephen G Eoannou
Yesteryear is a magical novel based on the true story of Fran Striker, a struggling radio play scriptwriter who would eventually create The Lone Ranger. Set in Buffalo, New York during the early 1930s, Yesteryear explores the events and magical influences that led to the show’s debut, a show that provided hope to Americans during The Great Depression and made The Lone Ranger and Striker heroes. To write the pilot, Striker needs to overcome writers block, a Gypsy curse, foil a plot to assassinate FDR, deal with an alcoholic midget, and recover stolen diamond rings belonging to an equally alcoholic boxing champion. Populated by characters who lived during that era—radio actor John L. Barrett, Mafioso Stefano Magaddino, former boxing champion Jimmy Slattery, and president-elect Franklin Delano Roosevelt--Yesteryear is written in the same spirit as W.P. Kinsella’s Shoeless Joe, Bernard Malamud’s The Natural, and Daniel Wallace’s Big Fish.

  • Suburban Bigamy, by Michael S. Zimmerman
Michael Zimmerman chronicles the painful story of two families built on one lie, forever linked through betrayal, infidelity and bigamy. Then, after hitting rock bottom, Mike becomes a father of his own, and soon discovers something more powerful than the lies; a story of resilience, recovery and hope.
    In Michael's Words...
“Looking back now, there were always red flags – signs that my father was not the man we thought he was…his absence on holidays, his secrecy, and the constant excuses that took him out of town. It’s human nature to trust the people we love. But that’s what makes my father’s betrayal so heinous. He took advantage of the trust that the people who loved him had invested in him. It wasn’t simply infidelity. No, my father’s deceit was truly sociopathic. He built and designed our entire identity as a family – our lives – to facilitate his deceit. The truth, when we finally learned it, not only fundamentally changed our family moving forward, it tainted every memory we had together.”

  • Wordshine Man, by Tom Madden
I’m an author (5 books) and writer of countless articles and a weekly blog at MaddenMischief.com. Partly writing is a therapy to get things off my chest that disturb me or impress me that I have to write about. In the PR firm I started when I left NBC, I’m forever “polishing” press releases, media pitches, PR proposals. “Dad, can you polish this, meaning can I make it more effective, engaging, inspiring. So I polish . . . and polish words, sentences, paragraphs, hence came my latest book WORDSHINE MAN about how to make writing inviting.

  • American Christianity, by Pastor Owen E. Williams
American Christianity Black Liberation White Legalism attempts to understand and explain the churches' passive and, in some cases, silent national attitude and behavior towards matters of privilege, discrimination, greed, and racism in and throughout the western world's history. For too long, this sin of silence has caused many good people of faith to ponder this same question while searching the Holy Scriptures for answers on salvation and deliverance. This book will attempt to seek truth in all its rawness and discomfort as I address race relations in the west from the colonization of the Caribbean to the inception of America. My goal has been to find and identify a specific character in our spiritual genome that can make some sense for the centuries of atrocities, pain, and suffering we have burdened each other with, in the name of progress, profit, and politics.
