This week we changed it up a bit and sit down with just the two of us (Malia and Cat) to explore the topic of Neuro-Autonomy. What does this term mean? Where'd it come from? And most importantly, why do we need it? 

We hear a lot about restorative justice these days, but what does it look like in action? We spoke with April of @gobeyoninclusion about what restorative education and justice looks like in the classroom. As per the usual, we dig into the systemic problems at play and some other topics like what the heck a "strength based model" of disability is, and if it's even helpful.

This week we had the honor of speaking with Mr. Chazz of @mrchazzmrchazz on Tiktok. We talked about the importance of self regulation and its importance throughout the life of an individual. We also talk about the importance of parents, caregivers, educators understanding when they themselves are in need of regulation and how they can better themselves to be more present for the needs of those they support.

This week's episode is about a rarely discussed topic of substance use disorders in the disabled community. We got to speak with Lisa Lucas of @ladyharmreduction on Tiktok and  while many assume that rates would be lower in our community , statistics indicate the exact opposite. This is an intense episode, but we hope it will offer some hope and reduce stigma around this subject.
