The father wound is quieter than the mother wound, and that’s exactly why so few women ever grieve it. In this episode I share my own father, one lunch in my whole life, no gifts, no advice, and complete silence when something terrible happened to me as a teenager.
We look at three fathers: the frightening one, the absent one, and the one who was in the house but unreachable. Then we go into the two things that actually move this wound; grief, and discernment.
In this episode:
∙Why a father’s silence lands as no one is coming to defend me
∙Grieving the father you never got, and why that loss goes unrecognized
∙Why “daddy issues” puts the wound back on the daughter and what to call it instead
∙How growing up without a safe man leaves you without a baseline, not without judgment
∙Why safe can feel boring and unsafe can feel electric
∙A guided GLOW practice and two journal prompts
Content note: this episode discusses childhood neglect, sexual assault, and the death of a parent.

What do you actually do when the mother you’re healing from is still calling, still coming to Christmas, still in your life every week? This episode is the practical one: how to set boundaries with a toxic or emotionally unsafe mother without going no contact, and without losing yourself in the process.
Most advice on narcissistic or unsafe mothers treats this as a choice between cutting her off or accepting her. This episode refuses that binary. Most women aren’t going no contact, and that doesn’t make them weak. It makes them people with grandchildren, fathers, siblings, and forty years of complicated love.
Instead, we build a protocol.
In this episode:
∙The drive; why you become eleven years old on the way there
∙Change the metric; scoring the visit on your own regulation, not her behavior
∙Name the impossible goal; why hoping for an apology leaves you starving
∙Don’t send a nine-year-old to the meeting; a 90-second parts practice for the parking lot
∙The contact protocol, before; your exit, your ally, your two sentences
∙The contact protocol, during; body checkpoints, the information diet, and why “grey rock” can backfire for trauma survivors
∙The contact protocol, after; who not to debrief with, and why you need 48 hours
∙When it gets worse before it gets better; the escalation that follows a new boundary
∙Ambiguous loss; grieving a mother who is still alive
∙Inanna and the seven gates; taking yourself back on the drive home
∙A GLOW™ practice for the car, after
Journal prompts from this episode:
1.What am I actually going for in this relationship — the real, achievable thing?
2.What’s my exit, and who’s my ally?
3.What do I need to take back at the gates on the way out?

What happens when the mother who was supposed to protect you didn't, or when she competed with you, bullied you, or made you the problem? In this episode of our Healing from Sexual Trauma season, we go deeper into healing the mother wound and what it means to reparent yourself after sexual trauma.
We talk about the two wounds so many women carry fused together: what happened to you, and who didn't come. We name the mother wound that rarely gets spoken; the jealous, competitive, or emotionally unsafe mother, sometimes called a narcissistic mother; and how growing up with her can shape the fawn response. We explore why the freeze so many survivors blame themselves for was never consent. It was a survival skill learned at the kitchen table.
In this episode:
•The difference between the event and the abandonment
•When your mother was your first bully
•How fawning learned in childhood connects to freezing later
•Recognizing your inner critic as her voice, not yours
•Finding the mother within and why you don't have to build her from scratch
•Brigid, the foster-mother goddess, and being mothered by more than the woman who bore you
•A guided GLOW™ practice and three journal prompts
This is part one of two. Next week: how to stay whole when she's still in your life.

Believe actions over words. Every time.
In this episode, Autumn Moran, LPC gets practical about identifying safe people - the real timeline for new relationships, the red flags media taught us to romanticize, and why limerence hits differently for ADHD and autistic brains.
Plus: the trauma dumping pattern most women don’t realize they’re doing, and scripts for real situations.
In this episode:
∙The 3-6-12 month relationship timeline and why it protects you
∙Red flags disguised as romance
∙What limerence is and why it’s more intense for neurodivergent women
∙How to make clear decisions even while limerence is active
∙Trauma dumping…what it looks like and why to save your story for the right container
∙Real scripts for real moments

Words and actions match. Every time. Not eventually. That’s the whole test.
In this episode of The Awakened Heart, Autumn gets fiercely honest about what healthy love actually feels like - and how to tell the difference between real connection, love bombing, and trauma bonds that get mistaken for passion.
This episode is deeply personal. Autumn shares her own journey of refusing to settle, breaking generational patterns, and what it actually costs - and gives - to choose a different kind of love.
IN THIS EPISODE YOU’LL LEARN:
- The one litmus test for healthy love that cuts through all the confusion
- What love bombing actually looks like - specific, recognizable signs
- Why trauma bonds get confused with passion and what intermittent reinforcement does to your nervous system
- Why steady, healthy love can feel foreign or even boring at first
- The concrete, daily signs of healthy love - safety, openness, communication, softness
- What it actually costs to break a generational relationship cycle
- How to model healthy love for your children even if you never had that model yourself

You are not lost. You are descending. There is a difference.
In this episode of The Awakened Heart, Autumn Moran LPC takes you into one of the oldest stories in human history - the descent of Inanna, Queen of Heaven and Earth - and connects it directly to what you are living right now. The stripping. The darkness. The losing of everything you thought you were.
This episode is not for the woman who already came through. This is for the woman who is in the middle of her descent right now and needs to know how to survive it, move through it, and trust a process that doesn’t come with a map.
THIS EPISODE IS FOR YOU IF:
∙You are a late diagnosed woman with ADHD autism or AuDHD navigating identity loss and transformation
∙You are healing from sexual trauma or complex trauma and feel like you are losing yourself in the process
∙You keep running back to what you know doesn’t work because the unknown feels worse
∙You are in therapy but feel stuck - going through the motions without things actually changing
∙You are a neurodivergent woman who needs permission to trust a healing process that doesn’t make sense yet
∙You want to understand the mythology of Inanna and how the oldest goddess story maps onto your healing journey
THE CORE TEACHING:
Wholeness isn’t found by staying in the light. It’s found by being willing to go into the dark, lose yourself completely, and trust that what comes back is more fully you than what went in.
Inanna - the oldest named goddess in recorded human history - chose to descend into the underworld. She was stripped of everything at seven gates. She died. She hung in the darkness for three days. And she returned more whole than she left.
Your descent is not punishment. It is initiation. The process by which you become more fully yourself.

What if the healing you’ve been waiting for has been waiting for YOU to show up first?
In this episode of The Awakened Heart, Autumn Moran, LPC, takes you into one of the most tender and transformative parts of trauma recovery: shadow work and reparenting. Not the Instagram version. The real version - where you become the adult who finally shows up for your younger self with protection, validation, softness, and real boundaries.
If you’re a late diagnosed neurodivergent woman healing from trauma, there are parts of you that have been waiting a long time to be chosen. This episode is for them.
-----
**IN THIS EPISODE YOU’LL LEARN:**
- What reparenting actually is (and why it’s not self-pity or blame)
- Why your anger has been hiding as resentment, depression, or numbness - and what to do with it
- How to choose yourself daily through boundaries where no genuinely means no
- How to shift your inner critic into a steady, compassionate inner advocate
- Why reclaiming play and joy - with zero productivity attached - is essential to healing
- The go-bag principle: how to support your neurodivergent nervous system the way a good caregiver would
- How journaling gives language to unmet needs and wounded younger parts
- Why body movement for pleasure (not punishment) rewires your relationship with yourself
- How small acts of follow-through build real self-confidence over time
- What Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is and how it reframes the survival beliefs formed in childhood
**THIS EPISODE IS FOR YOU IF:**
- You’re a late diagnosed woman with ADHD, autism, or AuDHD healing from sexual trauma
- You’ve experienced childhood trauma, sexual trauma, or complex PTSD
- You’re tired of waiting for someone else to choose you and are ready to choose yourself
- You struggle with anger, resentment, or a harsh inner critic
- You want real, practical tools for inner child healing and self-reparenting
- You’re a neurodivergent woman looking for trauma-informed support that actually gets it
**WHAT IS REPARENTING?**
Reparenting is becoming the parent you needed and didn’t fully have. It’s the adult you - the one who has done the work, who has the awareness, who is choosing healing - going back to the younger versions of yourself with what they needed.
Protection. Validation. Gentleness. Boundaries. Play. Joy. The experience of being chosen.
You are not broken. You were not failed because you were unworthy. You were failed because the adults around you were limited by their own wounds. And now you get to do something radical: show up for yourself the way they couldn’t.
That’s reparenting. And it changes everything.
**THE GO-BAG PRINCIPLE:**
We are like toddlers. We always need a go-bag.
Think about what you pack for a toddler: snacks, comfort items, something to keep their hands busy, something familiar. Your neurodivergent nervous system needs the same things everywhere you go.
Your sensory comfort items. Your snacks. Your fidgets. Your plan for when things get overwhelming. You’re not being high maintenance. You’re being the attentive, loving caregiver your inner child never had.
