As the months wore down in 1918, more and more people were being found in their New Orleans homes with their heads brutally destroyed by an axe.

When this killer's reign of terror ended in October of 1919, six people were be dead and six more wounded. He prowled the streets of New Orleans for only a year and a half, but the psychic damage done to the city would last over a century.

Because at the end of the day, the man known as the Axeman of New Orleans was never caught.
