    Spending over two decades in the mobile industry, Biniak formerly served as the EIR at NGP Capital before forming ConnectedTravel in 2016. Dedicated to creating an original experience via automobile, ConnectedTravel creates an experience that allows for passengers to engage in different activities (such as playing games and watching videos) which lead them to finding discounted experiences near their current location. Attracting companies like Lego and DC Comics, Biniak explained that this application helps drivers focus on driving while passengers can find exciting new ways to find relevant activities for the whole group to enjoy. 

    With the Mavens, Biniak explains how ConnectedTravel differs from similar companies, how companies utilize digital advertising connect with people and how the general car-user experience is continuing to involve.

    This week, the Media Mavens meet up with Emiliano Reprah, Explorer and Writer at Discovery Inc.

    Born in Mexico and raised in Washington, D.C., Ruprah has developed a lifelong passion for wildlife and protecting both dying species and vanishing human cultures. Traveling across the world, Ruprah has worked on a variety of conservation series for National Geographic, citing Crittercam as his first love. A member of the Explorers Club, Ruprah has made some exciting documentaries, putting himself in the line of fire with “War Tourist” and most recently, “NOMADAS,” a beautifully shot nature documentary for Smithsonian Chanel. 

    Always busy, Ruprah spoke with the Mavens from the Mayan Jungle, in the midst of finding ways to help protect a dying jaguar population. With the Mavens, Ruprah discusses conflict zones, an in-depth look at his current project, working in a battlefield and the moral dilemma in major companies taking resources from dying out societies. “You can’t expect these people to sacrifice their livelihood for what we want.” Ruprah said.

  • Bringing Characters to Life

    This week, the Media Mavens meet up with artist Tommy Tejeda.

    Spending a lifetime in his craft, Tejeda started drawing comic books in Argentina at the age of 16, before going to work on a variety of superhero cartoons in the 1990s, including “Batman Beyond” and “Justice League.” Now, he’s spent over a decade working one of television’s most iconic cartoons: “The Simpsons,” where he currently serves on as the Lead Designer. Even before becoming the show's Lead Designer, he had time with many jobs on the beloved show starting as a layout artist before moving on to storyboards, assistant directing and character designer to name a few. 

    With the Mavens, Tejeda discusses his exciting resume, the variety of methods he is able to paint and some his upcoming gallery. “I’ve got 22 pieces, I’m working on 9 simultaneously.” Tejeda said.

    This week, the Media Mavens meet up with opera director and singer Aleta Braxton.

    Spending a lifetime in the music industry, Braxton has worked on over 150 productions for Los Angeles Opera, but her résumé doesn’t stop there. On top of the opera, Braxton has sung with the Los Angeles Master Chorale, toured as a soloist and worked on a variety of notable television and film soundtracks ranging from “Fifty Shades of Grey,” “Malcolm in the Middle” and even “Star Wars: Rogue One.”

    With the Mavens, Braxton discusses some of her favorite roles, the difference between different types of opera singers, the skill level needed to fulfill some roles, and what it’s like working in a group of singers. “You’re basically on a team, everybody’s playing together for the common goal of scoring a good performance” Braxton said.

    Mick shared with us whats beyond the Horizon, the imminent terrorist threats we will be facing while Afghanistan just became a " safe haven" for terrorist and extremist groups around the world, prompting Jihads and other terrorist groups to head back to Afghanistan to regroup.

    With Talibans take control over the main airport in Kabul, the U.S has sent over more troops in the past 24 hours to re-enforce and maintain the safety of the military base just clicks away to ensure they can get U.S and dual Citizens as well as Special Visa Holders out of the the country as fast as they can.
